about middle school and are so excited about coming to Glenwood next year.
In keeping with this transi8on, last night was the parent orienta8on for the 5th grade students. They shared in the enthusiasm of their children vis-‐à-‐vis the upcoming transi8on to Glenwood.
Closer to home, I am so excited to experience my first Midnight Madness (March 23-‐24). The excitement here at school is palpable as the date approaches! Heads are being shaved, pledges being made (Mr. Lovera), and teams are being formed. I cannot wait. I hope that you will be able to join us for this Glenwood tradi8on.
Wishing you all a fantas8c weekend. As always, encourage our students to be REMARKABLE and DISTINGUISHED.
!Warmest regards,
Robert A. Motley Principal !

Congratulations to Ellie Feaga, President of the Glenwood Middle School's Leo Club, who testified before the State of Maryland Senate. Senator Gayle Bates invited 8 people (all adults except for Ellie) to testify before the Senate in Annapolis regarding an agricultural-educational bill that she was introducing. The lady Chairperson of this Senate Committee was amazed at the level of information that Ellie so thoroughly and eloquently delivered.
We are very proud of our remarkable & dis4nguished GMS students!

Leo's Club News !The Glenwood Middle School Leo's Club is a group of over 30 students dedicated to service. We work closely with the Glenwood Lions Club and focus on service to others as well as learning leadership skills and having some fun too.
Our largest project is our bike drive. We collect bikes in any condition, and we prepare them for shipment. Our next pick-up day will be in May, but we have storage space in the old Bushy Park Elementary School. If you have any
old bikes you would like to donate, please leave them by the front door to the old Bushy Park building anytime, and they will be put in storage there for the May pick-up date. Last year, we donated almost 200 bikes to the organization, Bikes for the World. They transport them to developing countries. We already sent 50 bikes to Costa Rica in October.
If you, or anyone in your family, are expecting new bikes for the holidays or just have an unused bike or two, please consider
donating your old or out-grown models to our Leo's Club.
Thank you for all your support.

! HAIRCUT FOR A CAUSE!
During Midnight Madness, we will be collecting money for an organization called Lollipops, which supports students with disabilities. In order to help raise funds, Mr. Lovera has agreed to shave off all of his hair if we raise at least $3,000. !If you are interested in donating money for this cause, please write a check to Glenwood Middle and in the memo section put “haircut.” Please have your daughter/son deliver the check to Mr. Bradford. Hopefully we can raise at least $3,000 to help support this worthy cause. Plus, it would be nice to see Mr. Lovera get his head shaved.
