ABOUT THE BEGINNERS’ &

IMPROVERS’ LINE DANCING ...

Our goal was to provide line

dance socials where people

could come and dance all night - and that

came about... The Senior Center offers us a

beautiful ballroom. We do have the dancers;

getting the dancers to want to dance together

would be the key!

So our desire was to facilitate dancing,

create an atmosphere of light-heartedness,

make it fun and enjoyable enough for dancers

to congregate on the same dance floor.

“Coming together is the beginning, keeping

together is the progress!”

Then our wish was for the line dance socials

to be successful. “Success is not the key to

happiness; happiness is the key to success,

but when you love what you are doing, it’ll

be successful!” Line dancers love to dance

and escape to a trouble-free place just for a

moment!

Now our realization is that we have a team –

folk from various backgrounds, unique

individuals, working together toward a common

goal. Teamwork is believing in each other,

not hindering each other, and helping to

bring out the best in each other as they

overlook differences.

support, your faithfulness. You have made

this journey possible because of all your

Cookin’ with Ms Dotti … Here are a couple of quick meal ideas for a hot summer evening. Coupled with the

salad and a chilled, fruity dessert, it’s perfect!

1. Saute chopped meat with cream of mushroom soup. Add grated carrot to

the mixture, season to taste with salt & pepper, and serve over rice. Or, if

you prefer, slice the carrots, boil til tender and serve buttered as a side

dish.

2. Saute chopped meat with onions & garlic, seasoning to taste with salt &

pepper. Add shredded cabbage and spaghetti sauce. Serve over pasta or

potatoes.

A Caesar salad goes well with either dish.

For dessert, cut up some fresh fruit such as melon, pineapple or kiwi. Or try fruit cocktail with a dab of instant

vanilla pudding on top. Sprinkle with toasted coconut. Or you can use coconut pudding with a bit of almond

extract.

SODA POP CUPCAKES (ONLY 2 INGREDIENTS!)

1 box (2-layer size) SuperMoist white cake mix plus 1 (12-oz.) can carbonated beverage of choice (“soda pop”)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Place paper baking cups in 24 regular-size muffin tin cups.

3. Beat the cake mix and soda pop with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute; then on medium speed for

2 minutes, scraping sides of bowl. Divide batter among the cups.

4. Bake 15-18 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove

to rack to cool completely (about 1 hour). Frost, if desired, with canned or homemade frosting.

NOTE: Orange and root beer sodas are my favorite.
