Frequency Bandwidth2 – 30 MHz Requires ATU
Models HM218/M and HM223/M are suitable for all HF marine communications in the 2 to 30 MHz frequency range. These longer antennas offer top performance together with a two-piece light weight construction enabling easy dismantling and storage. The antennas are designed to couple with your HF radio transmitter via an Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU).
The two-piece white fibreglass radome is fully sealed and packed tight with closed cell foam to protect the internal braided copper radiator, prevent rattles and maximise service life in harsh marine conditions. The copper radiator terminates on a stainless steel stud above the mount tube, to which the 6 metre high voltage feed cable attaches. Mount tubes do not carry RF voltage.
To broaden your choice of mounting positions, both mast mount and side mount clamps are available.
For mounting to a mast, 2 x UAM180L galvanised steel parallel clamps are recommended for a round mast between 40 mm and 75 mm in diameter.
Side mounts are nylon and include ½"–BSW stainless steel fasteners. These allow easy mounting to the side of a wheelhouse or other vertical flat surface. Order NSM218 or NSM223 according to the antenna model. 2 nylon side mounts are necessary. Drill a 12.7 mm (½") diameter hole through the wall for the stainless steel bolt and then firmly secure each side mount in position.

Bandwidth2 – 30 MHz Requires ATU
HM300 is a 10 metre tall free standing marine HF radio deck mount antenna specifically designed for larger vessels. This model delivers outstanding performance, is very durable and accepts high input power up to 2,000 watts PEP.The antenna couples with a HF radio transmitter via an Antenna Tuning Unit.
The sturdy fibreglass radome is a three piece construction with each section joined with stainless steel ferrules. Each radome is fully sealed and packed tight with closed cell foam to protect the internal braided copper radiators, prevent rattles and maximise service life in harsh marine conditions.
The radome tip has a corona ball to prevent high voltage discharge into the atmosphere. The antenna butt is bonded to a short piece of stainless steel tube.
The deck mount base assembly is available to order separately if required. Constructed from stainless steel, this very sturdy deck mount plate is 300 mm in diameter and 12 mm thick, as pictured below. The vertical mount tube is welded to the steel plate. There are 4 holes in the plate for securing the base to the deck using stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. Termination is via a bolt in the base to which the 6 metre single core 20 kV antenna feed cable attaches.

Advice to customers :To achieve best performance, the marine HF radio antenna must be mounted as far away from other antennas and metallic objects as possible to avoid interference and distortion of the radiation pattern. Also, a good earth system is the essential key to achieving the optimum transmit and receive performance. The HF radio antenna must be isolated from the vessel’s earth system. The antenna feeder cable attaches to your Antenna Tuning Unit, and it is the ATU which must be connected to the vessel’s earth system. Refer to the installation instructions which came with your ATU.The vertical radiation pattern for HF radio antennas is largely influenced by the size, shape and nature of the ground plane under the antenna. Symmetrical, balanced, as well as low resistance earthing is needed for a good omnidirectional radiation pattern. The length and placement of the feedline also has a large effect on pattern formation, with modelling indicating a long feedline at right angles to the antenna causes the pattern to vary greatly from omnidirectional.

Frequency Bandwidth2 – 30 MHz Requires ATU
The HM212 and HM215 deck mount models are suitable for all HF marine communications in the 2 to 30 MHz frequency range.
These antennas are designed to couple with your HF radio transmitter via an Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU).
The single piece fibreglass radome is fully sealed and packed tight with closed cell foam to protect the internal braided copper radiator, prevent rattles and maximise service life in harsh marine conditions.
The copper radiator terminates via 5 metres of high voltage (20 kV) feed cable side exiting from the chromed brass mount ferrule.
Both models come complete with our highest quality fully stainless steel MM2 folding deck mount. This base folds down in two directions and also swivels in the opposite plane by loosening the stainless steel pivot bolt. This versatility allows the antenna to be mounted in a variety of positions on any flat surface and at any angle using four screws or bolts.
The antenna must be in a vertical position for optimum performance and can be folded down when not required.

CM162AIS is a marine deck mount antenna factory tuned for the AIS Automatic Identification System operating in the VHF frequency range 161.9 to 162.1 MHz.The single piece white fibreglass radome stands 1.4 metres tall and the antenna delivers 2.1 dBi gain. 300 mm of white RG58 low loss cable side exits from the folding deck mount base and an N-Type Female connector is fitted to the cable for easy installation. The marine AIS Automatic Identification System is a Very High Frequency (VHF) radio broadcasting system that transfers packets of data over the VHF data link (VDL) and enables AIS equipped vessels and shore-based stations to send and receive identification information that can be displayed on an electronic chart, computer display or compatible radar. This information can help in situational awareness and provide a means to assist in collision avoidance. AIS can be used as an aid to navigation by providing location and additional information on buoys and lights. The AIS Class A system is mandatory for vessels over 300 gross tonnage, whereas Class B has been developed for vessels such as work craft and pleasure craft with limited functionality. This deck mount antenna is factory tuned to operate with both AIS Class A and Class B systems. There are two models to choose from.
CM162AIS is the standard model with white delrin ferrule and MM1 folding deck mount constructed from toughened plastic. This base folds down in two directions and also swivels in the opposite plane by loosening the stainless steel pivot bolt. This versatility allows the antenna to be mounted in a variety of positions on any flat surface and at any angle using four screws or bolts.

Factory tuned to receive AM and FM Radio broadcasts while at sea, these deck mount antennas are a perfect match in both height and appearance to other ZCG Scalar “BM” series marine antennas.
BM6-AM/FM Â stands 2 metres tall.BM8-AM/FM Â is 2.5 metres tall.
The single piece white fibreglass radome is fully sealed to protect the copper internals ensuring long term survival in the harsh marine environment. The antennas are optimised in the factory for strong resonance across both the AM and FM radio frequencies.
4.5 metres of RG58 low loss stranded cable side exits from the folding base. A solderless “easy fit” car radio connector is supplied.
The MM1 folding deck mount supplied is constructed from toughened plastic. This base folds down in two directions and also swivels in the opposite plane by loosening the stainless steel pivot bolt. This versatility allows the antenna to be mounted in a variety of positions on any flat surface and at any angle using four screws or bolts.
The antenna must be in a vertical position for the optimum radio reception and can be folded down flat when not required.

Standing 66 cm tall, ZM312B is a wire wound fibreglass whip with white heatshrink cover factory tuned to receive AM and FM radio transmissions. The whip mounts onto the white OB-3 base supplied which has stainless steel and brass components to ensure long term service in the harsh marine environment.
The antenna is not ground independent and therefore must be mounted on a metallic surface at least 0.5 metres square for effective performance. Typical mount positions would be on the deck or cabin of an aluminium or steel boat.
5 metres of white RG58 low loss stranded cable bottom exits from the OB-3 antenna base. A car radio connector is fitted to the cable for easy installation.
ZW312B is the white top whip alone which can be ordered seperately.

Folding Deck Mount Bases
The MM1 base supplied as standard with all our marine deck mount antennas is constructed from toughened plastic. This base folds down in two directions and also swivels in the opposite plane by loosening the stainless steel pivot bolt. This versatility allows an antenna to be mounted in a variety of positions on any flat surface and at any angle desired using four screws or bolts.
The thread at the top of the base is 1"–14 UNS male to match the female thread in the ferrule of our deck mount antennas.
For those who prefer the ultimate in quality, durability and strength, the MM2 folding deck mount is constructed entirely from stainless steel. To order any of our marine deck mount antennas with the stainless steel MM2 base in place of the MM1, simply add the letters ‘SS’ to the antenna Order Code.
Please Note : These folding bases are also most useful for mounting an antenna to any flat surface whatsoever; not just on a marine vessel. Typical examples include mounting an antenna to a caravan or trailer, on a roof or vertically to the facia board of a building.
Nylon Side Mounts
Constructed from nylon with stainless steel bolts and washers, Nylon Side Mounts are specifically designed to mount a marine antenna to the side of a vessel’s wheelhouse or any other flat vertical structure.
Drill a 12.7 mm (½") diameter hole through the vertical surface for the stainless steel bolt. Then tighten the bolt to firmly secure the side mount in position.
Using two (2) of these nylon side mounts, the antenna mount tube is held tightly by the 8 mm stainless steel clamp bolt.
The radiating section of the antenna must to be elevated well clear of the mount structure, other antennas and all metallic objects to avoid interference and distortion of the 360O omnidirectional radiation pattern.

Mast Mounting Clamps
A variety of parallel clamps are available for mounting antennas to round masts of various diameters. Our entire range of clamps are listed in the “Antenna Mounting Accessories” section of our Product Catalogue. However, for the marine environment, this selection of parallel clamps are the most common :
EB1SSAntenna Tube : 20 to 50 mm diam.Round Mast : 20 to 50 mm diam.All stainless steel.Two (2) clamps required.
UB3SSAntenna Tube : 20 to 32 mm diam.Round Mast : 20 to 50 mm diam.All stainless steel.Single clamp sufficent for smaller antennas.
UAM180LAntenna Tube : 40 to 75 mm diam.Round Mast : 40 to 75 mm diam.Galvanised steel components.Two (2) clamps required.
