• Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UNC Greensboro in 1997.

Professional Career• Radwanski played five seasons for the Carolina Dynamo from 1993-1998 and helped

the team win U.S. Interregional Soccer League national titles in 1993 and 1994. He was named the USISL MVP and national finals MVP in 1993.

• A member of the U.S. National Team Pool from 1985-92, Radwanski made five starts for the National Team in 1985. He also played with the World Cup, Olympic, World University, and National Indoor teams in the 1980s and early 1990s.

2020 SEASON PREVIEW

CLEMSON’S SPRING SEASON• The team went 2-0-0 through its two match of the spring

season against Auburn and Kennesaw State.• South Carolina transfer Sami Meredith netted four goals

across two games including a hat-trick in the spring to lead the Tigers in scoring.

• Villanova transfer Hensley Hancuff got her first two starts in a Clemson uniform during the spring while adding a solo shutout.

BY THE NUMBERS• Renee Guion led the Tigers in points in her sophomore

campaign as she became the 2nd ranked played in program history for single-season assists and became tied for 1st with three other players for most single-game assists in program history after tallying four against Coastal Carolina.

• Every single freshman field player in 2019 notched their first collegiate goal as Lauren Bruns rounded out the freshmen scoring in the ACC Quarterfinals against Florida State.

“We are just really grateful for the opportunity to be able to play,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. “Our group has spent a lot of time playing each other in scrimmages and practices so they were just ready to face an opponent. It’s always nice to get the win, get the shutout, and create scoring opportunities, so it is nice for the kids to see their hard work pay off.”

After leading the Hurricanes in shots by an 8-0 margin midway through the first half, senior Mariana Speckmaier picked up her 24th career goal off a header in the box sent in by Caroline Conti. It was just a minute later that Megan Bornkamp added her name to the scorebook with her first collegiate goal as Courtney Jones and Lauren Bruns picked up their first points of the fall.

The Tigers were able to carry the momentum into the second half as Renee Guion found the back of the net for her second career goal off a feed from Speckmaier. Another Clemson newcomer would close out the scoring for the night as Sami Meredith connected for a volley from Harper White’s touch.

“We feel like we are going to be a lot more balanced,” Radwanski spoke on the attack. “We have more attacking options than we have ever had - I’m pleased with our depth and know that everyone who steps on the field has the ability to contribute.”

GAME 2 - VIRGINIA TECHRECAPClemson, S.C. - The Clemson women’s soccer team (2-0,

1-0) earned a 3-0 victory over Virginia Tech (0-2, 0-1) on Thursday night at Historic Riggs Field to open ACC play. Caroline Conti led the team in scoring with two goals on the night. Following tonight’s win, Clemson has outscored its first two opponents by a 7-0 margin.

“Grateful and excited to play at Historic Riggs Field again,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. “It was a good match for us - we needed to have a game where we got pushed, challenged and had some adversity to deal with. I think both teams enjoyed being back out and competing.”

The first half saw Clemson outshoot Virginia Tech by an 8-2 margin, with five of the shots put on net. The Tigers’ best opportunity of the half came when Maliah Morris took a penalty kick after being fouled at the top of the box moments after beating her defender with a skillful touch. Morris’ attempt was saved by Virginia Tech’s Alia Skinner.

The second half saw the Tigers’ scoring erupt, with Conti netting the first and third goals for the Tigers. This was the first multi-goal game of Conti’s career. A Virginia Tech own-goal in the 67th minute rounded out the scoring summary on the night. In total, the Tigers logged 16 shots during the 90-minute match.

In net, Hensley Hancuff recorded her second shutout of the season and made three saves.

“It was wonderful to see Hensley [Hancuff] come and throw her body around and make some great saves and earn back-to-back shutouts,” said Radwanski.

Clemson won the possession battle between the two sides, holding 55% of the ball with the majority being spent in the Tigers’ own attacking third. Clemson played a total of 16 players Thursday evening.

GAME 3 - VIRGINIARECAPClemson, S.C. - The Clemson women’s soccer team (3-

0-0, 2-0-0 ACC) defeated the Virginia Cavaliers (1-1-1, 0-1-1 ACC) by a final score of 3-0 at Historic Riggs Field on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers had three different players contribute to the scoresheet, while Hensley Hancuff extended her shutout streak to three-consecu-tive matches. This is the Tigers’ largest margin of victory against the Cavaliers since a 4-0 victory at Historic Riggs Field in 2001.

“Today’s game was a collective decision by the team to come out to compete and to win,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. “You want to beat a good team and they were a No. 1 team last year - I have great respect for Steve [Swanson] and his program. We say the best is yet to come for Clemson and this is what we’re doing.”

The Tigers’ opening goal came off of a beautifully orches-trated counterattack in the 4th minute of play, as Mariana Speckmaier dribbled the ball down the touchline and handed it off to Maliah Morris who crossed the ball right on to Caroline Conti’s head. Conti’s goal was her third of the season and made her the Tigers’ leading scorer.

In the second half, Clemson displayed their dominance on the ball by adding two goals and controlling the pace of play for the entirety of the half. In the 58th minute, Courtney Jones put away her first goal of the season to extend the Tigers’ lead. In the closing minutes of the match, Megan Bornkamp converted from the penalty spot for the Tigers’ final goal of the match and her second of the season.

Hancuff logged another shutout in net, making a sea-son-high five saves against the Cavaliers. Hancuff’s save of the match came in the 54th minute, as the junior was forced to lay out to stop a close-range header from Virginia’s Diana Ordonez.

“We feel like we have great goalkeepers overall,” said Radwanski. “Hensley is playing like a pro - she has her head down and is working at getting better and she’s of the growth mindset. Having a presence like her back there is comforting.”

Following today’s match, Clemson has scored seven of their 10 goals this season in the second half of their matches. Morris’ service to Conti for the Tigers’ opening goal was her second assist of the season, a category which she now leads the team in.

In his 10 seasons at Clemson, Radwanski is now 22-0 when his team scores three or four goals in a match and improved to 90-6-4 when his Tigers score first.

ACC PLAYERS OF THE WEEKRELEASEClemson, S.C. - After starting the season 3-0 (2-0 ACC),

the Tigers racked up their first individual accolades of the 2020 season as sophomore midfielder Caroline Conti and junior goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff were named as ACC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, re-spectively. With Conti and Hancuff claiming positional honors, it marks the first time in program history that the Tigers have swept the ACC Players of the Week since the conference began naming both in 2015 and the first time a team has swept the awards outright since North Carolina grabbed both honors on Sept. 18, 2018.

2020 AWARD RECIPIENTS off her sophomore campaign with three goals and an assist across the first three games of the season. In the opening weekend of 2020, she recorded an assist on Mariana Speckmaier’s season-opening goal. By just the second game, she opened up her lethal attack, netting two goals against Virginia Tech for her first multi-goal game of her career. The Greenville, S.C. native solidified her ACC Offensive Player of the Week nod by finding the back of the net on a perfectly placed header in the 4th minute against the Cavaliers, marking back-to-back game-winning goals.

Hancuff, a Villanova transfer and former BIG EAST All-Freshman team member, has started her Clemson career with 256 scoreless minutes across her three starts between the posts. The Edmond, Okla. native has re-corded nine saves to start the season with a season-high five coming against Virginia. With two solo shutouts and a combined shutout under her belt, Hancuff sits just one shutout away from tying her career-high mark for a single-season.

Collectively, the match against Virginia was the Tigers’ largest margin of victory against the Cavaliers since a 4-0 victory in 2001. Hancuff was the first goalkeeper to shut out the high-powered Virginia offense since Oct. 21, 2018.
