ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE

PREPARING FOR SUMMER

The Architectural Committee would like to say “vaya con dios” to the CSEII homeowners who will be heading to other places for the summer. Please review the following documents, which you can access at cseii.com. Click on “Forms” to download.

1. Homeowner Absence Info form (please complete this form and give to your block captain.)

2. Tips for When You Leave for the Summer form (please read this sheet carefully and arrange with your landscaper to keep your yard tidy for the time you are away.

Check out your garage door light. Is the light bulb still working? If not, please replace before you leave. Leave an extra bulb with a neighbor just in case it burns out while you are away.

Remember, those trees must be kept trimmed below the parapet at all times! A picture of a CSEII parapet is included below.

Three proposals for road/street work were received in response to our CSE II Request for quotation specifications. The proposals were reviewed by committee members and discussed on April 18th. A list of questions regarding interpretation and clarification were sent to a contractor for comment. The response will be reviewed by the committee on April 27th. Actual work will be scheduled for late May or in June if we accept one of the proposals presented. Selection and contract will be contingent on CSE II/Contractor agreement and Contractor’s schedule availability. Should we find these bids unacceptable; the CSE II Homeowners will be advised of future action. CJ DeLange

SPRING COLOR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Many thanks to our generous neighbors, Jim and Jeanne Campbell on Garzota, who each year share with us the beauty of their blooming cactus plants. This year they were especially breathtaking! Jeanne counted 150 blooms when they were still buds.

Here is a picture of the 3 century plants in the common area between Isaccson’s and Campbell’s. Jim, when he was on the landscape committee 20 years ago, planted these century plants in the common area. Next year they will be gone – as they will die after they bloom.

I found this snake under my master bed when I pulled out a table leaf that I stored there. It was lying coiled on the leaf but quickly became agitated when moved. One does not want to hear a rattler rattling and hissing in one’s bedroom like I just experienced. I am guessing it was there for a couple days, as I had not opened the screen door in that room for at least a couple days. Lucky for me, the dog had recently had Snake Avoidance training and she immediately did what she was supposed to do. I am just glad it hadn’t decided to come out on its own earlier as I might have stepped on it getting out of bed! This might be a good reminder to keep your screen doors, gates, and garage doors closed. You may also want to make sure all the weep holes in the brick walls are covered with mesh. Be careful out there! Submitted by Sandy Hill
