Mission Lunch
A Mission Lunch will be served on June 8 after the 11:00 AM service.
A love offering will be taken for the orphanages in Uganda. The
offering will be delivered by Delrose Betts during her mission trip in
July/August.
I am always moved at this time of the year as I think of
those who have given their lives in the Armed Services of our
nation. I think of the families that were left behind, the
unfulfilled dreams, the children who have never known a
parent. I think of the things that I take for granted that were
given through the ultimate sacrifice of many. And then I
remember there are still brave men and women on the battle
fields doing the same thing today. As we prepare to worship
this Sunday take time to thank a Veteran of the Armed
Services for their service, pray for the families of those who
have lost loved ones, pause and reflect on the freedoms we
enjoy. Join us Sunday Morning as we celebrate Memorial
Day.
Men, would you consider going to a Men’s Conference
this August in Nashville, Tn. THE MAIN EVENT,
conference will hear such notable testimonies as Bobby
Bowden, Thom Rainer, Jeff Stuecker, and more. The guest
speaker for the conference will be President George W. Bush.
The conference will be held August 1-2. Registration
information can be obtained through the Church office.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Volunteer Ministry boxes have been put out. Be sure to fill
out a sheet and drop it in one of the boxes so the nominating
committee will know where you are willing to serve. They are
hard at work trying to get all positions filled and need your
help.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR PROGRAM NOTE Our Children’s Choirs Parade of Choirs last Wednesday, May
14 was a great event. Thanks for supporting our children with
your presence. I really want to share my gratitude to Erin
Timmons, Dian Bruce, JoAnn Moore and Ame Sanchez for
their leadership of the children’s choirs during the 2013-2014
year. You are all the best!
The handbells even shared a wonderful piece at the close of
the service. Thanks to our newest ringers, Victoria Long and
Pat Harrell for doing so well in your first performance. Bells
will resume rehearsing in the fall so look in this column for
the date and time.

lunch. Wear your outfits.
MIGRANT MINISTRY NEEDS HELP To support the farmers and laborers, we have teamed up with
state and local teams who also labor to meet the needs of indi-
viduals and families. A variety of volunteers provide medical,
dental, healthcare, education, translation as well as food and
clothing assistance. In addition to hosting a meal for all the
volunteers, FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH has provided cloth-
ing. Workers, clothing, and cash is needed in order to help all
who need it. See the Missions Bulletin Board across from the
office for specific detail on how you can help.
