Loved Ones Added to the Xenia Nazarene Church Memorial Roll on Sunday, May 27, 2018

The Memorial Roll, established in 1919, is a way to honor deceased friends and loved ones. A certificate is issued in the name of the person memorialized and is presented to a family member. The money paid to add a loved one to the Memorial Roll ($75/person) is sent to the Church of the Nazarene headquarters to be used toward the cost of medical coverage

for our Nazarene missionaries.

Rev. Marlon E. Angel, Age 77 (11/22/1940–11/21/2017) – Marlon was a child of the King. The Lord blessed his ministries in Ohio, Alabama, West Virginia and Indiana. He was husband to Dee and was blessed with 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.

Garnet Beam, Age 87 (3/22/1930–7/23/2017) – She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and learned continuously. She taught us all to love Jesus, love people and love God’s beautiful world. Such a legacy…such a servant…such a life!

Ansel Brown, Age 77 (1/13/1939–10/24/2016) – Ansel retired from SuperValu where he worked as a truck driver for 40 years. He enjoyed horses, riding his motorcycle, fishing and boating. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Grooms) Brown. Together they had two children— LeAnn (Robert) Boike and Bruce (Becky) Brown, six grandchildren; a great grandchild and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She and her husband Paul had two children, Amy (fiancé Ronald Leslie) and James (Emily). Linda worked as a dietary aide at Trinity Nursing Home. In addition to her family and best friend Diane Terrell, Linda loved butterflies, teddy bears, westerns and cooking shows.

Irene Downs, Age 91 (3/10/1926–7/6/2017) – Irene (Mom) lived 91 years loving her Lord and God, caring for her family-- including the cats, and supporting the church and its missions.

Sandra S. (Fugate) Leach, Age 75 (10/4/1942–12/1/2017) – Sandy was a long-time member of Xenia Nazarene Church. She had a big heart with a big smile. She was a dedicated Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sandy is missed by everyone.

Rita Anderson Riccardi, Age 83 (2/23/1933–7/29/2017) – Rita loved the Lord and was a member of the Xenia Church of the Nazarene for over 75 years where she served on the church board/numerous committees, and taught Sunday School classes. She traveled several times with mission groups to Papua New Guinea. She had a wonderful voice and sang in high school musicals, trios, church choirs, and often performed as a soloist. Rita loved her family, quilting, camping, boating, cooking and baking fabulous pies. She had the gift of hospitality and service for the Lord and was loved by all who knew her.

Fonetta Thomas, Age 50 (3/8/1967–9/20/2017) – Foni started attending Xenia Naz when she was 5 years old and was picked up by the church bus. She attended regularly for many years until her health began to deteriorate. Her one true love was Mike Turvy; Foni and Mike were both Promise Class members. She lived alone all of her adult life, with the help of Toward Independence and her family. She had a special relationship with Garnet Beam and loved it when Garnet came to visit. Watching TV was her favorite pastime.

Tim Thompson, Age 61 (11/1/1956–6/17/2017) – Tim was seldom seen without a smile on his face. He attended Xenia Nazarene most of his life. He loved coming to church and especially enjoyed the music.
