Pranic HealingTwin Hearts Meditation Circle

January 6 & 20 • 7:30 p.m.

Twin hearts refers to the heart chakra, which is the emotional heart, and the crown chakra, the

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

Pranic HealingTwin Hearts Meditation Circle

January 6 & 20 • 7:30 p.m.

Twin hearts refers to the heart chakra, which is the emotional heart, and the crown chakra, the

divine heart. When the heart chakra is activated, divine energy flows into the divine heart which is known as the crown chakra. The divine energy then flows through all parts of the body. When divine energy flows down to the meditator, they are filled with divine Light, Love and Power. The meditator becomes a channel of this divine energy. During the meditation, the earth is blessed with this Divine Light, Love and Energy. The meditation also causes the person to experience a feeling of divine bliss and joy as well as a feeling of oneness with all creation. Pranic healing is an ancient science and art of healing that utilizes prana or life energy to heal the whole physical body. This class is hosted by DeAnna Graziano. If you have any questions or would like more information please contact Dianna at 646-341-3669.

FISHING CLUBThe VillageWalk Fishing Club met in the Town Center on April 6, 2015. We

had 12 members present. On our club fishing outing, on our lake, in front of the Gazebo,

we had a number of people fishing in competition. A number of nice fish were caught. The largest was a

big tilapia caught by one of our lady members, Charlotte Henning. Her prize was dinner for two at our Railhead Restaurant. A highlight of the meeting was Tony Cavallaro, our founder, joining us. He came in to say goodbye. He and his wife are moving back up North to be nearer to their family. The club truly wishes them all of the best in the coming years.

Dining With FriendsTUESDAYS, MAY 19 & JUNE 16•6:30PM

Many of our friends have gone back or will soon be going back to their homes in other

parts of the country, but we as a group we still get together every month. We meet the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 in our homes and prepare and share a meal and just get to visit with each other in small groups. Mark your calendar for our May 19th dinner and June 16th date. We always have room for new friends to join us. If you have any questions please call Joan Tassone for more information at 239-985-9336.

VILLAGE WALK GARDEN CLUBThe big news this Spring is still the Village Walk Nature Trail ! We now have 9 zones of butterfly friendly plants and shrubs along the South Buffer of our Community. Take a ride, jog or walk along the Trail and take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful plants and, more important, see the Monarch butterflies. With thanks to an anonymous donor, we have been able to erect three signboards at intervals along the length of the Trail where you will soon be able to find information about the butterflies and other wildlife together with what plants and shrubs you may find in the zones. This initiative is wholly supported by the Garden Club and we offer a huge thank you to all those Garden Club members who plant and maintain the zones, dig and delve, organize the volunteers, donate plants and help in a wide variety of ways. We also thank all those outside the membership who have made donations to our work on the Trail. The Garden Club will be holding its final meeting of the season in May and we are actively working on an exciting Calendar of activities, meetings and tours for the next season beginning in September 2015.Don`t forget, we are open to all with an interest in gardening. Contact Frances Mason-Barton at: [email protected]

Wine Club The Wine Club that began in January, held their last gathering at the Oliynik home in April. If you would like to try this wine club over the summer, Brenda and Terry Peters will host a trial of the seasonal wine tasting club on Wednesday, May 13, to see if there is interest to keep it going. Up to 12 VillageWalk residents, 21 and older, couples or singles, gather to taste and enjoy new wines. Each couple or single selects one 750ml bottle of a wine of a specified varietal valued $12-$20 for the group to taste. These are dropped off at the Peters’ residence by noon on the day of the tasting. Up to six bottles will be tasted at each gathering held from 7-9pm. Wines will be numbered in a “blind” tasting with the name of each wine being revealed at the end. Members are asked to bring a light snack (e.g. cheese, crackers, nuts, veggies, etc.) to share. The cost is $5 per person to help defray the cost of cup, plates, napkins, and utensils. If there is enough interest for May, we will host another over the summer. Membership is on a first come basis via email to Terry or Brenda Peters at [email protected].

A new photo group at Village Walk dedicated to the simple fun of taking pictures. The

group will meet twice monthly with alternating weeks shared

between photo walks and photo discussion. The mission of Picture This! is to get you taking better photos. The club is NOT about cameras. Plans are in place for shooting photo themes, group trips to the Naples Pier, City Dock and walks around the community. You’ll learn about managing your photo storage, improving your photos on your computer…but most of all, how to see and take better pictures.Co-hosted by John Thawley and Sara Kearney, the group promises to be a hands-on experience. All you need is a camera and a desire to take great photos. A good working knowledge of your camera is helpful… but bring your manual along in case you get stuck. The long term goal of our group is to produce and publish a group book by season’s end. Everyone will contribute photos to the book!Meeting times will be set in advance in order to coordinate shooting dates. However, photo discussion times will remain 7:00PM - 8:30PMMay 6 - Times vary. All tentative and subject to change.

THE BOARD’S CORNERAs we move forward, it is the intention of your HOA’s Board of Directors to develop focused and constructive policies and procedures in order to ensure the health and safety of all residents and employees at VillageWalk. These policies will not be either punitive or impracticable, but rather a structured means of successful communication between the Board, the Management Company, and our community. To that end, we are asking residents to follow a protocol for notifying the Board and/or Southwest Property Management of any areas of concern, possible criminal activities, and situations which make you in any way uncomfortable. It has come to my attention that there has recently been a spattering of conversations posted on the Next Door VillageWalk website which fall into these categories. I do not consider Next Door to be a productive or worthwhile forum for people to voice issues which need to be addressed by either the Board or by our Management Company.First and foremost, any criminal acts (theft, vandalism, etc.) should be immediately reported to the Sheriff’s Office (239-477-3040) with a follow-up telephone call or email to Kathryn Halas at the Town Center and/or to a Board member. Other areas which cause you concern or “discomfort” should also be reported immediately to Kathryn, and/or to a Board member. Your H.O.A. Board does not monitor hearsay conversations on websites. We are here, available, and ready to address any concerns you may have at any time simply by contacting us. I am a full-time resident of Village Walk and welcome your opinions, concerns and yes, your compliments about the many good and positive things here in VillageWalk Bonita.Michael A. Pace, President

Golf Cart Registration and Use

All golf carts must be registered with the HOA office. A sticker is given to place on the cart which alerts residents and law enforcement the cart is legal and registered with the

HOA. To register, please bring a valid driver’s license, copy of insurance and complete the registration form at the Town Center. Cost is $3.00 to register.

Golf carts are permitted on the river walks which are the wide sidewalks around the lakes. They are also allowed on the access roads to the river walks and on the streets. However, all drivers must use care and consideration for all others also using these areas. Golf carts must yield to pedestrians as they have the right of way, and slow down and use care when around bicyclists, joggers, dog walkers and children. Please operate this vehicle responsibly.

A Caution to the Community

If you are upgrading your Comcast modem, it has been reported this may interfere with communications with your alarm system and ADT. You will need to self-test (which is recommended to do monthly) and contact ADT if there are any communication problems.

MAY | JUNE 2015 TALK OF THE WALK~ 21

H .O . A . I N F O R M AT I O N

Hurricane Season Begins June 1st and ends November 30th!We all hope this year will be a quiet year for Hurricanes! Shutters may be installed June 1st through November 30th if the home will be unoccupied for the Hurricane Season, and if they are painted white or match the exterior color of the home. Reminder: all shutters must come down or reopen December 1st, no exceptions. Remember to secure all items (potted plants, exterior umbrellas, lanai furniture and exterior art décor) on the exterior

during a hurricane or while you are away. Any small, loose items can become missiles during these storms, causing damage to property, screened cages and unprotected windows.

Just a reminder: Must have’s in your ready-to-go emergency kit: ✔ 1 gallon of drinking water per day per person ✔ Non-perishable ready-to-eat- food (canned foods/milk, peanut butter, energy or granola bars, instant coffee and other drinks, etc.) and manual can opener

✔ Two week supply of medications (w/ list of dosage, amount, doctors to contact for emergency medical treatment)

✔ Analog phone (no battery or electricity needed) ✔ First aid kit, bug spray, sunscreen, extra batteries, baby or sanitary wipes ✔ Battery operated radio (extra batteries) and NOAA or other radio ✔ Flashlight (extra batteries) ✔ Cash/credit cards and important documents (DL, Social Security card, insurance policies, medical cards, etc.) in sealed plastic bags to keep dry

✔ Extra bleach for disinfecting water ✔ Work or gardening gloves, sturdy shoes, hat. ✔ Check on line for Lee County’s Hurricane Preparation Plan for more information.

Check Your Screen EnclosuresScreened cages in the community are now 8 – 10 years old, and many of the screens have become brittle. Brittle screens break and tear easily. Many of the rubber splines which hold the screen panels in place have come loose, shrunk with age or have lost their elasticity. Be sure to check the bolts that attach the cage to the deck material: if these have rusted, they should be replaced with new bolts before hurricane and tropical storm season begins. Please inspect your enclosures carefully and make repairs as necessary.

Architectural Change Approval Needed

No matter what you are placing outside, if it is in view of the neighbors, from the streets or walkways, it needs to be approved before you may place it outside. Plants may not be removed or installed without prior approval either. All physical changes to the exterior of the home must receive approval prior to any changes being made. Fences are not permitted.

REMINDER

Please do NOT ride bikes or skateboards on the Town Center walkways. Signs are posted which list the restrictions. These walkways are pedestrian pathways only. Please be mindful of the restrictions; they are in place to protect all our residents.
