History: In the summer of 2016, MAYB will have been in operation for 23 years. In 2015, over 6,500 teams from throughout the USA participated in our area tournaments. In 2016 we will offer over 350 tournaments in 22 states. MAYB is now one of the largest organizations of its type in the USA and continues to expand rapidly each season. Program: MAYB tournaments are unique in many ways. Participating teams are set up by the grade level a player was in during the 2015-2016 school year. MAYB offers divisions for 3rd -12th grade boys’ and girls’ teams at all events 1st and 2nd grade divisions will be offered at the National Tournaments. All players are eligible to partic- ipate. We strive to provide a competitive environment for all teams and players to improve their skills. Teams have found MAYB to be a very affordable option for summer par- ticipation and skill development. Our five-scheduled game guarantee at each tournament assures a player a minimum of a 20 game summer season in only 4 weekends. Pool play and bracketed tournaments are used to group teams by similar talent. Another unique feature of MAYB is that most area tournaments are locally hosted. Booster clubs, school programs and teams, recreation centers, and vari- ous community organizations host the events and use the proceeds within the local community. MAYB is proud of the fact we have been able to help many programs through- out our operation area provide services they may not have been able to afford otherwise. MAYB does reserve the right to combine age groups if necessary at specific tournaments. A team will never be asked to play-up more than one grade level ahead of their division. What is MAYB? Mid America Youth Basketball was formed by a group of high school coaches for high school programs. For 23 years, MAYB has attempted to provide a maximum amount of court time in a competitive setting for kids interested in developing and testing their basketball skills. We attempt to work closely with school programs to develop their feeder programs from 3rd grade through high school. Many successful programs in several states have made great use of the MAYB program. It has been a great experience to watch many great teams and players come through our system over the years. We value the input of all people involved with MAYB, and we encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact our office via phone call or email. Why play MAYB? • Most cost effective program available • No membership or player registration fees • 3rd-12th grade boys’ and girls’ divisions • All tournaments are open entry for all teams • Discounts for multiple tournament entries • Pick your playing dates and locations • 5-game minimum guarantee at all tournaments • No qualifying required to participate for the entire summer • Ability grouping to provide level competition MAYB National Summer Kickoff: Be a part of the largest summer basketball tournament in the USA June 10-12, 2016 in the Wichita, KS area.
