Welcome

Travel Information

• Flight details and dates will be issued in

approximately two weeks time.

Travel from the School to Airport via

School minibus.

Bag checks will take place before the

departure, to check kit (and remove any items

which won’t be needed!)

THE CAMP

• Most of our time will be spent at the

• Camp at Beng Mealea.

• Students will sleep in longhouses.

• A basic mattress and mosquito net will be provided, sleeping bags are essential, as at night it may get cold.

A season 1 sleeping bag is sufficient, and a sleeping bag liner is a good idea to cater for all climates.

THE CAMP

• Toilets are of a basic construction and are

composting toilets. They are also raised above the ground

and rice husks are provided for sprinkling onto the matter in order to stop any smells and

help the composting. For ladies, sanitary disposal is

provided via sacks should this be required.

• Showers are basic(!), you will be encouraged to fetch your

own water from the well.

Food is all cooked freshly every meal in the camp kitchen. You will be encouraged to get

involved in the cooking.

• We will be building an accomodation block for the teachers while there

• Manual labour, gloves, footwear, water

I WOULD LIKE YOU TO RESEARCH A SIMPLE RECIPE TO TAKE TO THE

CAMP. THERE ARE NO OVENS, FOOD IS COOKED IN PANS ON A GAS RING.

I WILL DISCUSS THIS FURTHER WITH THE GROUP NEARER THE TIME
