Chesed Committee
We are currently looking for volunteers, both male & female, to help serve as Shul greeters
on Shabbat. You will welcome people to UOS as they enter the Sanctuary.
We hope to grow and be able to offer more in time, but to start we are currently able to extend these acts of chesed: 1. Friendly check-in calls – to members we haven’t seen in shul for a while, just to make sure they’re okay. 2. Hospital Visits (bikur cholim) 3. Birthday calls or visits to seniors who’re living alone or don’t have family in the area. 4. Rides to weekday shul events – for members who’d like to come to an event, or perhaps to daven or say kaddish, but don’t have a way to get there.
If you are able to help or know of someone
that needs some assistance
please contact Doreen Lerner at [email protected]

Neighborhood Information Starting June 15, 2017 the entire southbound lane of Greenwillow Dr. between Breakwood Drive and Interstate 610 frontage road will be shut down for 2 weeks (maybe more pending on weather & onsite changes). Huff & Mitchell will be moving forward on completely replacing that entire concrete pavement in this sec-tion. Greenwillow will only be open on the NORTHBOUND lane. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO EXIT THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO 610 FRONTAGE ROAD OFF OF GREENWILLOW. PLEASE USE ALTERNATE ROUTES SUCH AS BRAESWOOD AND CLIFFWOOD TO EXIT NEIGHBORHOOD. If residents need access to Breakwood Dr, Meyerwood Drive, and Woodvalley Dr from Interstate 610, they will either need to enter from Greenwillow NORTHBOUND lane and detour when Greenwillow intersects with Cliffwood and drive back down south down Cliffwood towards Interstate 610. Residents will also have access to Woodvalley, Meyerwood, and Breakwood if they enter through Cliffwood from the 610 frontage road. Residents entering from Braeswood will only have access to Woodvalley, Meyerwood, and Breakwood if they detour through Cliffwood Drive driving towards Interstate 610. We respectfully request that all residents please stay alert in regards to all traffic signs and certified flagmen indicating these specific detours.
Rabbi Gelman will be away on summer vacation (and performing a wedding of a congregant) from June 25th - July 3rd. If you have any urgent mattes to discuss,
please be in touch with him before he leaves.
