CoRT Thinking System Tools
• Dr. Edward de Bono is known as an expert in the fields of creativity and Lateral thinking.
• Dr. de Bono was the first person to propose that the human brain is a self organising system.
• He developed thinking tools and creativity methods that have helped individuals and organisations change their thinking by bypassing the normal thought-blocks that impede their everyday thinking.
• CoRT = Cognitive Research Trust
• Thinking is a skill that can be developed
• Most practical thinking takes place in the perception stage.
• The tools method is used to teach thinking.
• Choose an issue and a CoRT tool
• Work through the given issue and strategy in order to generate a possible action on that given issue
• Report back to the group on your CoRT tool, the issue, and the action(s) that were generated.
