Endorsement
“In order to prosper as an industry we must create a
more respectful environment for consumers where
we offer them choice, transparency and control.
The Website of the Year election tells us how sites
perform in those areas according to the public.”
Alain Heureux
President & CEO IAB Europe
Process
• The competition contains 20 categories. In each of the 20 categories 12
websites are nominated.
Per category the nominees are selected by the following procedure:
• The winner(s) of the previous edition (depending on the previous edition,
this will be either 1 or 2 websites)
• A maximum of 5 websites out of the list of Top 100 largest websites per
country.
• The 5 most frequently mentioned websites by consumer panel research.
• Supplemented with a maximum of 6 wildcards (websites with at least 2,500
unique visitors per month), judged by a panel of consumers.
Process
The voting process:
• The voting period lasts six weeks.
• There can only be one vote per person in each of the 20 categories.
• The respondents are asked to judge the websites based on the following
criteria; content, navigation, design and recommendation.
The winners:
Two prices can be won in each category:
• The most popular website: the website with the largest number
of votes.
