1. Preparation for Removal

• CloseON/OFFclamporplace hemostatontubingper facility’sprocedure.

• Removealltapeexceptfor lastpiecesecuringthewings.

2. Positioning MasterGuard

• SlideMasterGuardforwardwithFingerShield®anchorpointingup.

• Removelastpieceoftape.• PulltheApheresisneedleback slightlytoexposethevenipuncturesite.

• Placehemostasisdressingovervenipuncturesiteandgently holdinplace.

3. Easy Steps for Safer Removal

• MoveMasterGuardforwarduntillowerjawisjustpastwingsbut nottouchingvenipuncturesite.

• PlaceindexfingeronFingerShieldandmiddlefingerondressingwithminimalpressure.

• GrasptubingdirectlybehindMasterGuardandpullsmoothlyandcontinuouslyuntilwingsaresecuredwithaudibleortactile“click.”

• Applydoublefingerpressureonceneedlepointhasexitedvenipuncturesite.

• ContinuetoapplydoublefingerpressureondressingandFingerShield.

• PulltubinguntilflexibleFingerShieldslidesfromunderindexfinger.

• MaintaindoublefingerpressureasFingerShieldisreleased.

4. Disposal

• Disposeinapprovedbio-hazardsharpscontainer.
