Darmstadt is...#KNOWLEDGE #CULTURE #LIFE
Darmstadt offers event planners an abundance of
attractive venues for fringe events: from a trendy industrial space to small baroque castles, down to underground clubs or high up in skyscraper lounges.
Four well-known interna-tional hotel chains currently have projects in the pipeline or under construction, the first of which is to open in 2018.
Darmstadt has excellent transport links. IC and ICE trains
call at Darmstadt main station (Hauptbahnhof). Frankfurt Airport is only a 20-minute drive away. The Air-Liner bus provides direct links from the airport to darmstadtium, with over 30 shuttles per day.
Darmstadt is a modern, vibrant conference city with a rich culture. Museums, theatres, clubs and the Vivarium zoo are just some of the offerings that inspire its visitors.
The Mathildenhöhe, a citadel of Art Nouveau and synthesis of the arts, consists of a wedding tower, museum, artists’ houses and the Platanenhain, and is set to become a World Heritage Site.
Social pro-
grammes in Darm- stadt combine knowledge
and culture in diverse ways, with themes ranging from the fossil ancestors of modern horses (Messel Pit World Heritage Site) to the Venus
Express Mission (ESA / ESOC).

Darmstadt is located at the heart of Europe, in
the centre of the Rhine-Main /Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, and is only a 20-minute drive from Frankfurt’s international airport. Public transport conference tickets, e-bikes, call-a-bike, or rent-a-car services are available for you to get
around Darmstadt.
Up to 1,500 hotel rooms are available within a two-
kilometre radius in Darmstadt. Darmstadt’s current total capacity is over 2,100 rooms. A modern 4-star hotel with 208 rooms is located in close proximity to the Science and Congress Centre.

Design scalability throughout our premises makes (almost) anything possible. Our large congress hall ‘spectrum’ truly offers the entire spectrum of possibili-ties. Yet a high degree of flexibility characterises all the rooms in our building.
| For example, ‘ferrum’, our small congress hall, can be accessed via a separate entrance upon request.
| It goes without saying that flexible combinations also apply to the conference rooms in darmstadtium.
| Not only that, but our consistent employment of the latest multimedia technology offers plenty of room for you to experiment.
WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
spectrum: an all-round winner| The spectrum congress hall can
be divided into two or three smaller rooms.
| Raised seating platforms allow the hall(s) to be quickly converted into a tiered auditorium (e.g. for conferences, concerts or spec-tacular staging) or an entirely horizontal parquet surface (e.g. for a gala or exhibition).
| A lifting gate allows the congress hall to be opened up onto the spacious entrance foyer.
| The surrounding foyer areas can be used for a variety of purposes, e.g. for accompanying exhibitions etc.

Over the past few years, darmstadtium has led the way in the event planning industry when it comes to the connectivity revolution, offering event organisers and guests first-class internet access over its high- performance wireless network. 3G and 4G connections can be accessed in all areas of the building, including the underground garage.
Our collaboration with TU Darmstadt also enables us to offer visitors an external internet connection with download speeds of up to 10 gigabytes. Our wifi solu-tion with self-contained network management and security features has proven a huge hit with customers.
It’s easy to see why event organizers who are planning to host sophisticated user conferences and product presentations choose darmstadtium. We not only offer the best in hard- and software, but also dedicated customer care and first-class IT support, thanks to our own team of in-house specialists. darmstadtium is a vanguard project for sustainability, the conservation of resources and smart energy use and is thus well placed as a future-oriented, climate- friendly conference venue.
darmstadtium’s sustainability concept is a dynamic interplay of architectural and technological features. Renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic cells, ground heat and biomass have been integrated into its energy system, which also employs rainwater and heat recovery.
| The premises’ own biomass boiler runs on locally sourced woodchips.
| Hydropower provides 100 % of our green energy supply.| Together with its climate partner Entega, darmstadtium
compensates for all stationary CO2 emissions from the events held in the congress centre.
| Green Arrival: We co-operate with Deutsche Bahn to allow for CO2-neutral travel to our conference centre and offer a public transport conference ticket to get around Darmstadt conveniently.
| Complimentary use of two in-house electrical charging points using green energy.
| With an abundance of certificates and memberships from sustainability organisations, darmstadtium is currently striving to become the first congress centre to be awarded EMASplus certification.
