Humboldt Arts Council in the Morris Graves Museum of Art 636 F Street, Eureka, CA 95501 www.humboldtarts.org ANNUAL MEMBER EXHIBITION The Humboldt Arts Council The annual member show at the Morris Graves Museum of Art is a juried exhibition designed to highlight the fabulous art being produced by our artist members. We invite you to submit one piece of your artwork for consideration to be included in this year's exhibition. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: One entry per Humboldt Arts Council Member/Artist, $15 per entry. Open to current members of the HAC or join entry day. Work from the visual arts disciplines-drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, mixed media are all eligible. All work should be installation ready, cannot hang from ceiling. All work submitted must have been created within the past two years and must not have been in a previous exhibit at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. Sales are encouraged. Humboldt Arts Council will retain 40% commission on all sales. HAC reserves the right to reproduce images of artwork from this exhibit. If requested, proof of insurance value must be provided. HAC does not assume responsibility for pieces left beyond the pick-up dates. Marvin Schenck holds a B.F.A. degree in printmaking from the California College of Arts and Crafts and a M.F.A. degree from Mills College. He also participated in an advanced painting workshop in Urbino, Italy, through the School of Visual Arts (New York City). As an artist, he concentrates his efforts in the painting and printmaking media. As an art curator, he has coordinated over 140 exhibitions in a wide variety of media, historic periods, and themes. He has also taught both art history and studio art at the college level. Currently Curator of the Grace Hudson Museum and the Sun House in Ukiah, he has previously held curatorial and arts management positions at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts in Arizona, World Print Council in San Francisco, the Walnut Creek Civic Arts Gallery, Kala Institute in Berkeley, the Hearst Art Gallery ar St. Mary's College in Moraga, California, and the Mendocino Art Center. Marvin has had numerous exhibitions in California, Arizona, and Guadalajara, Mexico. Using imagery consistently inspired from the landscape, his work has spanned Photorealism, Post Impressionism, Surrealism, and abstraction.
