Dear Customer,

thank you for having chosen the Humidifier B300. Please read the operating instructionscarefully before using your new unit. We recom-mend that you keep the instructions in a safeplace, so you may refer to them when needed.

Humidifier B300 offers a combined function – itcleans, purifies, and humidifies the air. If onlythe humidifying function is needed, the air purify-ing function can be reduced by removing the airfilters in the suction area, which, however, doeslead to a considerable increase of the evaporati-on performance. The function of the UV-lampremains in the operating mode.

We hope that you enjoy your Humidity B 300unit.P r i n c i p l e o f O p e r a t i o n

With this unit, you have purchased a highly effec-tive humidifier and air purifier that offers you allthe advantages of today’s high-tech appliances. With the proper humidity level, you are not onlyprotecting your health, but also prevent dama-ging of valuable furnishings, storage goods orprevent product loss when humidity-sensitiveproduction processes are involved. The unit isoperated with regular tap water and functionscompletely free of condensation. The minimalpower consumption makes it an environmentalfriendly device.

The Humidifier B 300 works on the principle ofnatural evaporation. Thereby the humidifying andpurifying process works as described in the fol-lowing:The B 300 draws in the air through an air suctionopening on the side of the power cable and pas-ses it through an air filter, which filters out thelarger dust particles and fine particles. In theinner chamber of the humidifier, the drawn-in airis treated with germicidal UV-C rays and thanpassed on to the vapor filter. The vapor filter, which continuously glides through the water-bath, produces with its special structure a largeevaporation surface. This causes the air to becleaned one more time. After the humidificationand purification, the air is returned back into theroom. The Humidifier B300 thereby works basedon the principle of circulating air, meaning thatair in a closed room is drawn in, cleaned, andmoistened time after time until the humidity levelset has been reached. The measuring of the roomhumidity thereby takes place through a humiditysensor with a 2 meter cable. Displaying of theroom humidity and the setting of the desiredhumidity takes place through the operating dis-play. This is where you can also regulate the fanspeed.

The operating display of the B 300 informs youabout the current condition of the unit. You canread the room humidity, the set fan level, and thewater level. By using the switches + /- and AIR,you can input the settings for your unit.

The indicator display and setting of the relativehumidity takes place in 5% increments. Therefore, the values may deviate when usingother control devices. At 3 and 8, the displayjumps over to the next higher value (e.g. actualhumidity = 43% corresponds to =45%)

The user can, to a minor degree (+/- 5%), cali-brate the display accuracy. Read more about thisin the Paragraph "Adjusting the humidityIndicator"

The connection to the local water line networkmust take place via a specialist, e.g. a certifiedplumber. (Please comply with the regulations ofthe local water supply company). A return flowstop may be recommendable) for the connectionbetween unit and water pipeline, we recommendour 1,5m long safety pressure hose (Art. No.1754). The automatic water supply takes placecontrolled by a solenoid valve (water inlet). Theunit comes standardized with the water supplyset automatically on a max. of 12 liters. Thismeans that after the fill level has reached 12liters, the water supply shuts off. The controllingof the water supply takes place via the electrodebars of the water level indicator. For a perfectfunctioning of the automatic water supply, theelectrode bars must be cleaned regularly with asponge to free them from lime and dirt deposits.

Accessory Water Supply (AWS)

To guarantee an optimal functioning and a longlifetime of your B 300 unit, repair and mainten-ance are inevitable. Depending on the conditionsin the room environment, (air and water quality),the need for repair and maintenance can differ(see the table maintenance intervals). The requi-red works are described systematically in the fol-lowing chapter.

For all works on the unit, always unplug thehumidifier or otherwise make sure thatpower to the unit is off!

R e p a i r a n d M a i n t e n a n c e

To perform various maintenance works, first thecasing must be opened. Although the unit doesprovide for an automatic switch-off, when thecasing is opened, to insure safety, the powershould be turned off and/or the power supplyshould be pulled.

For the opening of the casing, remove the lockclips at the upper and lower side of the humidi-fier. Now the two halves of the casing can be pul-led open in both arrow directions (see picturebelow). Handle the casing parts with care so thatthey are not damaged.

Now you can also remove the technical module. Toremove the module, lift it completely upwards. Forreinserting the technical module, slide it into theunit along the on the bottom of the water reservoirlocated gliding mechanism. Attention: check thetension of the blue vapor filter; it can increaseduring the procedure. The tension can be increasedprior to the maintenance procedure by means of thetension pulley delivered with the unit.

The reassembling takes place in reverse order. Firstslide one half of the casing on the water reservoirup to the center of the unit. Afterwards the secondhalf of the casing is assembled likewise onto the tuband pushed toward the center.

Air cleaning filterTo change the air-cleaning filter, the casing hasto be opened first (for instructions see the chap-ter about Opening the Casing). Now the air-clea-ning filter can be removed by hand from its posi-tion. It is important that no residue remain. Once the old filter is completely removed, thenew filter (Art. No. 6361) can be inserted.Position the new filter into the same place as theold one. It is important that filter does not inter-fere with the rotor blades of the fan. In addition, the filter edges should not extend outward.

Vapor FilterFor a comfortable changing of the filter, werecommend to keep the water level as low aspossible.

First, open the casing (for instructions see thechapter about Opening the Casing). The old vapor filter can now be removed in thatyou either open or cut the zipper. Remove the fil-ter completely. Check the water reservoir for anyresidue, and if present remove it. Dispose of theold filter fleece into the residual waste.

Now remove the tension pulley (see illustration). You can now start with the inserting of the newfilter (Art. No. 6360) as shown on the picture.Close the zipper and check the tension. If it issufficient, you can close the casing as describedin the previous chapter. If the tension is not suf-ficient, insert the tension pulley and repeat theprocess as described above.

The change of the UV lamp should take place viaauthorized technical personnel. For all work on theunit pull the power supply plugs or ensure that thepower is disconnected! For changing the UVC lamp, the casing is opened as described before and thetechnical unit is taken out of the water tank.Afterwards the cover of the technical unit is unscr-ewed and the screws at the bulb socket of the UVlamp are removed. Now the UV lamp can be pulledout to the rear. Pull the defective lamp from itssocket and insert the new UVC lamp (Art. No.:6210). Afterwards you push the lamp back againinto the UVC protecting glass (Art. No. 6212), Fitthe socket with the existing screws and close thecover of the technical unit. Please also examine thesurrounding parts during the exchange of the UVClamp such as the UV protecting glass and the seal(Art. No. 6213) of the UVC lamp. If you shoulddetermine damages, the unit may be operated againonly after having exchanged the defective part.

Please dispose the defective UVC lamp in the samemanner as fluorescent tubes according to the spe-cific local regulations of your domicile.

Adjusting the humidity indicator

An authorized specialist should perform theadjustment. The Humidifier B 300 offers the pos-sibility to adjust the indication of the relativehumidity within a range of +/- 5% of the actualvalue, and thereby to adapt the display to otherdevices or measures. Please note that there is amicroclimate in each zone of a room area andtherefore the different value displayed from oneunit to another unit or appliance, is possible andcorrect. For adjustment/calibration, proceed asfollows: l opening the casing as described in the section" opening the casing " l with a small screwdriver, carefully turn theadjustment pot (potentiometer). It is locatedunderneath the circuit board and is accessible bya hole in the casing at the operating panel. Youshould make the adjustment in several steps, i.e.make only a small turn at the potentiometer, andcheck the result at the display. If the desiredresult should not be reached yet, turn againcarefully at the potentiometer. l Close casing after adjustment.

Cleaning of your Humidifier B 300

Every 3-4 months the unit should be cleanedfrom lime arrears and contamination (dependenton the site conditions: Water hardness dusty con-dition air quality). For this procedure, the casingis opened as in picture ".." (See also chapter onOpening the Casing). The cleaning can be accom-plished with commercial cleaning agents. Do notuse benzene or other solvents that can damageplastics! To remove lime residues please use thelime remover of the brand Brune (Art. No. 9016)or a commercial lime remover. All cleaning agentresidues must be completely removed (rinse wellwith clear water), since otherwise a foaming ofthe cleaning agents can damage the unit.

If the unit is not operated for a longer time, theresidual water is to be emptied and the tension ofthe vapor filter is to be decreased (see the chap-ter on Changing Vapor Filter). Additionally, theunit should be cleaned. A basic cleaning should take place annually (pos-sibly by our maintenance service).
