Message from the Conference Chairman

Bakheet Al-RashidiExecutive Committee Chairman

President & CEO

KUWAIT PETROLEUM INTERNATIONAL

On behalf of the Executive Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend Middle East Petrotech 2016 in Bahrain.

Within the last two decades, Petrotech has developed to become an international platform for industry experts, delegates, visitors, and exhibitors to gather from all over the world to exchange knowledge and ideas.

The conference theme “Teaming Up for Excellence: Industry, Government and Education” is focused on the symbiosis between downstream oil professionals, government offi cials and those active in the education and training fi elds. Synergy between these sectors will lead to the advancement of the downstream industries through the maximisation and exploration of resources, implementation of best practices and benchmarking utilisation.

The conference will attract the top scientists and business specialists in their fi elds, which will encourage business growth, diversifi cation, job creation and career enhancement all for the benefi t of the downstream industries.

In challenging economic times, optimising the best return on assets will be a focus of the conference, through energy conservation, new tools for the successful completion of projects, operational excellence and encouraging a culture of reliability and effi cient turnaround maintenance.

Of vital importance, is to understand the latest developments and trends in the global economy and future shifts in market dynamics. Top management and economists will discuss possible ways forward in an uncertain world.

Health, Safety and Environment will also be showcased at Petrotech 2016 in a bid to encourage the creation of a culture of plant safety and environmental practices to help ensure a safer and healthier future for future generations.

Finally, I would like to encourage professionals from the different industries to participate including national and international oil companies, professional societies and universities to have a memorable and rewarding event, and I am confi dent that we will all benefi t from our mutual interaction at Petrotech 2016.
