Thank you for your continuous support of Our Lady of Mercy School through your participation at our many events during the school year and for your generous contributions to the Mercy Fund. Although this year was not what we originally envisioned, your collaboration and partnership enabled us to continue in our mission to provide “foundations for a life of prayer, knowledge, and service.”

Your support allowed us to expand our technological resources for students with the purchase of additional Apple TV’s, iPads, computer lab technologies, projectors, and classroom and teacher laptops. These tools make it possible for our teachers to provide exemplary educational programs for our students, in the classroom and online.

I express great gratitude to you for all you do for Our Lady of Mercy School and thank you for your commitment to our success. We are great because of all of you. You make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff and I am most grateful. You and your family are always in our prayers.

Louis and Deanna SaabOur 2019-2020 Chair Family is a wonderful representation of parent support and dedication to Mercy. They are the parents of three Blue Jays and understand the importance of a strong annual campaign. Their encouragement to the Mercy community throughout the duration of the campaign helped us to raise $173,748.99. We are grateful for your emails, calls, and texts to our families in support of this vital effort. We could not have done it without you!

As The Mercy Fund plans its 2020-2021 campaign, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of what we were able to accomplish this past year through your support. These funds will support technology needs, such as TV mounts, apple TV’s, teacher laptops, projector bulbs, and Apple adapters. The integration of technology within the curriculum teaches higher thinking skills and allows students the opportunity to make technology a standard tool for learning. These tools provide unlimited resources and have been a lifeline between our teachers and students through these unprecedented times. Additionally, funding received through donations to the general fund are being utilized to help prepare Mercy for its fall opening. The Mercy Fund is supplementing funds needed to buy items such as: thermometers, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, etc. so that our classrooms, hallways and offices will remain safe spaces for students and staff. It is essential that our school is prepared and remains prepared to meet any needs of our students, staff, and families as we move through this pandemic together. As always, The Mercy Fund is supplying funding for an officer to remain on campus throughout the course of the day and week. Thank you for your work and belief in Mercy. Your gifts have made a difference for our students and continue to do so.

WHERE DOES IT GO?

AUCTION CLASSIC ~ MARCH 21, 2020 The 2020 Auction, Back to the Gym, did not happen as planned. However, our Mercy families continued to support this event and helped us raise $122,312.86. This was a terrific online fundraiser and even though we missed out on dancing in the gym and wearing our best looks from the 80s, you rallied behind this effort and made it a tremendous success. Thank you to our committee chair, Elizabeth McKnight and fellow committee members: Mallory Anderson, Louise Babin, Megan Boucvalt, Katie Cannizzaro, Ashlie Erwin, Ana Froelich, Jill Fruge’, Teal Gray, Candace Lowe, Sarah Mellem, Ashley Montagnino, Aimee Thibodeaux, Michelle Trahan, Kate Washauer, Carrie Webb, and Lauren Whatley.

WINE WALK ~ OCTOBER 25, 2019 The Wine Walk was a beautiful evening of fellowship and fun at the homes of Ragan and Virginia Richard, Brian and Megan Balhoff, and Jay and Bethany Robichaux along Esplanade Avenue. Thank you to each of these families for their hospitality; Mercy families were warmly welcomed into their homes. This is a much beloved event that raised $2,915.18 for our school.

As we move forward into the 2020-2021 school year, we ask you to please support The Mercy Fund campaign. These gifts enable us to continue in our mission to provide “foundations for a life of prayer, knowledge, and service.” Our annual fund allows us to meet needs such as technology, security, and infrastructure upgrades; it is also the fund that helps us to meet any unexpected maintenance repairs. The Mercy Fund is designated for programs that directly serve the students and enable them to enjoy the highest quality education on a safe and secure campus. Your gift helps us achieve this goal. This year more than ever we need your commitment to our campaign so that we may continue to provide the stellar education that we have all come to love and expect. Whether we are learning in the classroom or online, Mercy is ready for the challenge. Please help us stay ready by supporting the 2020-2021 Mercy Fund this fall. Our world continues to be uncertain, but what we know for sure is that Mercy is here for our students and families. More information about the 2020-2021 Mercy Fund will be sent your way in August.
