The Opus range provides IP2X operator protection to IEC 60529.

Safety is enhanced by the ability of Opus Plus and Excel toremotely monitor the ‘on’ and ‘off’ status of outgoing circuits, withlocal fuse blow indication and test probe access on each fusecarrier.

Manufactured to IEC 60439-3 and DIN 43623, Opus Excel has atransferable manual spring assisted switching mechanism thatallows less experienced operators to fault make, load breakswitch.

Supplied as a component, a low voltage assembly or as part of aMV/LV package substation, the Opus range meets therequirements of varying applications. Available as a fullyassembled fuseboard, frame, feeder pillar or fuse cabinet, therange offers a choice of manual, single pole or three pole switchingand independent manual single pole switching.

Complying to IEC 269-2-1 and accepting manually insertedIEC/DIN blade type fuselinks sizes 2 & 3, the Opus range offers asimple upgrade from any of the fuseway products.

A range of accessories for metering, cabling, testing andmaintenance complements the range.

OpusOpus provides protectionfrom accidental contact withlive conductors whenfuselinks are not in service. With the reliability of contactsbeing silver-plated forextended life, Opus ismanufactured with solidoutgoing cable connections,providing easy access fortermination of cables witheither a cable lug or amechanical connector.

Opus PlusIncreased levels of safety are achievedwith Opus Plus, using flame retardantmaterials, combined with fully shroudedfuselinks in carriers that are inserted andwithdrawn via levers in a manuallyswitching action. Opus Plus is availableas a single or three pole operation andprovides arc control and IP2X operatorsafety in open, closed and transitionalpositions.

Opus ExcelOperator protection from live conductorsduring all operating conditions is a keybenefit of Opus Excel. Its uniquemechanical spring assisted switchingmechanism enables safety of the highestlevels to be achieved, allowing theinsertion and withdrawal of fuse carriersto fault make, load break fuse switch,when engaged with each fuse carrier inturn. Independent of the operators skill,the fully interlocked switching mechanismensures correct operation of the fusegearand is the only means of switching thefuse carrier to the ‘on’ or ‘off’ positions.

Incoming disconnectorSupplementing the Opus range, a fully interlocked disconnector offering added safety withan operating handle to prevent incorrect operation.

The operating handle may only be removed when: contacts are fully closed and lockedclosed or fully open and locked open.
