Merlin Service Procedure
Your Merlin is a precision instrument that needs to be maintained annually to keep it safe and in full working order. A Merlin service usually takes about 3 hours followed by 8 hours of testing. During the service the following procedures are carried out:
• Full dis-assembly and cleaning of the main piston assembly.
• Cleaning and polishing of the interior face of the piston to minimise friction.
• Leak testing of the main piston assembly
• Replacement of the internal bacterial filters
• Cleaning of all internal airways with F10 anti-microbial solution
• Full dis-assembly, cleaning and re-assembly of the Inspiratory and Expiratory Valves
• Solenoid Valve closure performance and leak testing
• Re-calibration of pressure monitoring modules
• Re-assembly of the main piston assembly
• Leak testing of the whole Merlin machine
• Performance testing of Merlin
• Electrical safety testing of Merlin Once completed the annual service will return your Merlin to as-new performance. To keep Merlin in prime condition please ensure that the servicing interval does not exceed 12 months. Following a Merlin service your service engineer or service department will issue you with a Service Certificate, which you should keep for your records.
