Metamotionlandscapes is an exposition, setted up by Alef, of videoworks that, following the theme of the landscape, proposed and pro-poses a sort of journey through this research of contemporary art inan international context. The shown artists belong to different gen-erations and different nationalities but they are in the same exposi-tive project that proposes itself as a research and a reading of the dif-ferent “transpositions” of the landscape in visual arts, or better, invideo-visual arts.From the Romantic idealisation to the experimental conceptualizationof the landart, the landscape has been a favourite theme in the his-tory of art.This exhibit proposes, as an extreme expressive formula, videoart,that tells us about the landscape finding in the new expressive poten-tials linked to technology an unparalleled interpretative key.It was presented in June 2005 inside “Chimichemozioni”, a revieworganised by the city of Pavia that is an exploration around the differ-ent artistic experimentation linked to music to dance to theatre andto videoart. Part of the material comes from the Care of in Milano, a space runby Mario Gorni that stands out as one of the most attentive Italianrealities in conserving and valorising video works.Moreover, some very interesting works coming from the Central Asianpavilion at the 51st Venetian Biennale were inserted. These workshave an ancient power and they are clearly distant from many of theOccidental expressive parameters, but they all prefer video as anexpressive technique.

Roberta Piccioni
Roberta piccioni borned in 1967 in Riccione where actually she livesand works. She studied at Beauty Arts Accademy in Bologna and thengradueted at Ecole Nationale Supèrieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.By the beginning of her artistic development she plunge into videolanguage experimentation and comunicative power link with installa-tion. She uses installation to catch public 's attention who becomes apart of artistic work by a sensory incorporation process sets of by heruse of sound, between ripetitive voices creaking and silents integrat-ed in a game of temporal presences absences. Resonance box ofnewborn space/temporal level is the Piccioni's method of take liveused in more of hers videos.In metamotionlandscapes the choise is fallen on “ Video” 1998, awork that goes back to first yars of artist's video experimentationcarry out on film and only by few yars moved on dvd. Tecnology his-tory 's layers that are superimposed and chase each other to give aconcrete support to the video work conservation. Black and whiteimmages of a faded vhs run along the screen became the windowof the running train' s from wich all the shot takes place. Trellises,lampposts and cut threes traslated in a mental landscape livened upby speed.

Milos Sejn
Milos Sejn works in the field of visual art, performance and visual per-ception and runs different workshops, such as that of Boemia Rosae.His artistic conception took shape during his adolescence, when sheset out on several journeys to explore the uncontaminated nature tosatisfy a personal exigency to access the secrets of nature andobserve its miracles. Since 1960 he has been gathering and catalogu-ing photos and drawings which describe his observations aboutnature during these journeys. He is now teaching “ mixed media andthe relationship between art and nature as a human need” at theAcademy of Fine Arts in Prague focusing the attention on the imme-diate creative possibilities based on the relationship between histori-cal humanized landscapes and uncontaminated nature.
Born in 1947 in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic. He graduated in1975 ( visual art – Doc. Z.Sykora, theory of art and aesthetics – prof.P.Wittlich, Charles University Prague).Original member of Boemia Rosae Foundation (1994) for multimediaresearch on historical landscapes and member of the HermitFoundation and of the Metamedia Centre in the Closter Plasy NationalMonument.From 1997 to 1989 he works as a visual art performer and curator ofsome galleries in Czech Republic. In 2001 he is professor at the RoyalAcademy of Fine Arts in Hague and in 2003 professor at the Academyof Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana.From 2003 to 2004 he is professor at the Academy of Performing Artsin Prague.
For metamotionlandscapes the shown works are grand g/luna andgrand/g soul, both created in 1994, and this last one was shown atthe Kinsky Palace in Prague as one of the first works in the videoart

Grow&Bockler
Two young artists who live and work in Berlin and Buenos Aires. Theirproduction concentrates on different types of video: advertisement,video clips, short films and documentaries. Brevity and monotony of life seem to be at the centre of almost alltheir productions.For metamotion landscape they present Because 2002, 3'.50 – Thevideo tells about the urban landscape of the nocturnal Korea. A land-scape which is mixed and electrified. Scanned by an obsessive sound-track curated by Ulf Iohmann. This work participated in the"International short film festival of Oberhausen 2002" and in "Le fes-tival international du court metrage."

mediaporia lab
mediaporia lab is a project which originates from an hybridizing of dif-ferent professional figures all linked to art and multimedia, and it isan exigency of development and research on the expressivity of tech-nological means and their communicative potential. The strong conceptualization of their works together with a vocationfor revisiting the past, make mediaporia lab one of the most interest-ing projects in the multimedial arts.
landEXcapes 2005, 01,15the videoinstallation presented for metamotionlandscapes proposes arevisiting of the landscape in a progression, transforming it from nat-ural to urban and to mental, a psycho landscape which is a sort ofescape, transposition of the landscape in which the man lives his everyday life.The dizzy succession of the images articulates a syncopated tempo-rality which re-elaborates the reality and retraces the moments of thecontemporary social changes, characterized by a bombing of inputs ina continuous hybridizing. A strobomix of images which becomes acolour spot, inserted into a sonorous dimension, underlining theescape from reality. The frame is a metaphysical living room where the space is entirelyde-contextualized and reinterpreted. A canvas representing a rétrolandscape feebly stands out on the remotest wall of the room, quot-ing itself.What remains of its faded materiality is transposed into a thick gold-
en frame.
