How to improve your backtest results in MT4

Increase the capacity of a chart

Capacity of a chart? Yes, this actually is the number of bars that

your chart can hold.

Wait...Why do I need to increase it?

Because it allows you to have more data to backtest with.

More data?

Yes, you need more data in order to achieve reliable backtest results.

So, back to the point...

Here is how to increase the capacity of your chart in MT4...

Open your MetaTrader 4 Platform. Go to TOOLS then OPTIONS and select the charts tab.

Select the CHARTS tab and fill MAX BARS IN HISTORY and MAX BARS IN CHARTS with as many 9’s as you can and click OK.

Note that if you check back the same tab later it will display the actual number of bars in history and charts instead of 999999...
