Before the actual extraction is required to perform several steps which are major regarding the qualityof final oil and also economics key points of the production

+ selection of high quality grains from certified genotype with a sufficient oil content+ other important components of grain, such as protein, fiber starch to be able to sell the flour+ size of the grain+ color of the grain

+ black grain of amaranth weeds affect the quality of defatted flour and its marketability as well as any foreign matter+ the only appropriate method for cleaning the grain is separation by air blasting to a special cleaning equipment

A good extraction requires a specific size of amaranth flour!

+ The very small size creates dust, from which CO2 extraction is not able to separate the oil+ Rough milling leads to smaller grain are left unmilled which caused low yield of oil and the need for further milling process of the secondary raw material - - defatted flour

Supercr i t i ca l carbon d iox ide extrac t ion is a separation process, when the fact is used that above the temperature above 31°C (critical temperature), carbon dioxide can further increase the pressure to liquefy.

Thus, a highly compressed gas in the supercritical state has extraordinary properties - density grows with increasing the ability of dissolved substances. Dissolving CO2 can affect the ability of changes in pressure and temperature on the extraction of amaranth raining not to cross the border 35 °C. Under these conditions it is possible to get up to 90% of the extracted oil.

After extraction the filtration is needed. To get clean Amaranth oil we need to separate the waxes.

However, this does not stop the production process. Due to the fact that Amaranth oil is 100% natural ingredients with no added stabilizers, it must be packed in suitable packaging.One of the most popular packages are thin-walled metal canisters, which are representative and also maintain constant quality of the oil. In order to achieve stability declared after 12 months, it is necessary to conserve the oil with suitable gas like Argon or Nitrogen.
