The Good Things About Television Television is an inescapable part of modern culture. We depend on TV for entertainment, news, education, culture, weather, sports—and even music, since the advent of music videos.

For example, there are programs about travel and tourism, which give information about various countries, people and places around the world. The videos, pictures, commentary and music which accompany the shows generate an effect which is difficult to obtain by simply reading a book or listening to someone lecture.

1-The children of today have many more advantages than the children of two or three generations ago. Let's just take the TV as an example. 2-The children of today do not need to learn to read as early or to develop an imagination. All their fairy tales, bed time stories and cartoons are shown in living color on TV. SWEDEN

In 2008, I went to Sweden with my uncle.We went to Stockholm by plane.

It was so much fun.

We stayed in an American Hotel called "Hotel Star". Our room was on the 2nd floor . It was so hot outside.So I prefered to stay inside. I took out my PSP and played "Star Wars: Republic Heroes". Then I found a cafe. It was my aunt's cafe called "Cafe Evreka". There was a computer. I played SA:MP (San Andreas Multiplayer) .Then we took a bus and went to my cousin's house. I played PS3 and CoD:BO (Call of Duty Black Ops). I had a high score. I ate a big chicken.

We celebrated my 8th birthday. That was pretty fun. We went to the beach and hired a yacht. We went to the cinema. There was a film with Turkish subtitles named: Max Payne 3. We opened Skype and saw my brother, Deniz. We talked about the day. He said he swam today.He said he enjoyed it.I told him all I had done. He said he wanted to be in my place. I laughed at him.Then we closed the Skype.

MY HOLIDAY Last summer I travelled by ship. I really enjoyed my holiday. It was very fun. I went there in July, but it wasn’ t hot, it was so cold! I went there with my friend Bora, his parents his brother, my mother, my grandmother, my grandfather, my friend Baran and his mom. We stayed there for 10 days. We travelled to 5 different countries. We stayed on our ship. It’ s called MSC Poesia. The weather was always rainy. But I liked it. We went Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Germany. I liked Denmark more, because we went to a fairground there. It is called ‘Tivoli’. It was very interesting. I enjoyed this place. Then we wanted to go to an Ice Bar, but we didn’t. Becuse it was clossed. At the ship I went spa and jakuzi. I took a lot of photos. I went to a pub on the ship. Also I went to a gambling house. Bora and I had more fun every night we watched a great show in the theatre. We went there 30 minutes before the show, because we wanted to sit in the front seats. We liked this holiday. On my last holiday we went to Dikili.I was very excited.I went there with my father and mother.Dikili was fascinating.The sea was very clean.Our house was very close to the sea .There were all kinds of fruit trees in our garden. We swam in the sea in the morning then we went to the house. After breakfast I rode my bike with my friends after that I played tennis with my friends.At night we went fishing.We kept a poisonous fish.I was so scared.We took photos of the poisonous fish.It was very interesting moment.The next day I got up early becouse I couldn’t sleep.I read a book.I was bored becouse the weather was so hot.I went to the seaside with my friends.We talked with the tourists.I ate my grandma's food and I slept. We stayed for a month in Dikili.We had a lot of fun.We went fishing,we went to the seaside,we played tennis,we talked with the tourists.The climate was warm.I recommend this place becouse it was very beautiful. I went to Spain with my Grandparents and their friends. I was the youngest person on the tour. All of them were up to fifty years old. Because of that I was a little bored. We stayed in Spain nine days.We visited Madrid,Toledo,Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Barcelona. Madrid is the capital city. Madrid was very clean. We went to a very big restaurant. Then we went to Toledo. There were lots of shops.Granada was a very tourustic place because there were lots of historical places. For example Elhambra Palace.In Sevilla we went Spanish night. There were flamenco dancers. I couldn’t do flamenco dance because it was very difficult. I think Barcelona was the most beatiful city in Spain because there was a big harbour. I saw Cristoph Colomb sculpture. There were lots of shopping centers. One of them was very interesting because it was on the sea. The weather was colder than Turkey. MY LAST HOLIDAY On my last holiday I went to Malatya. I went with my family by car. I stayed there for two weeks.In Malatya, I stayed in my cousins' house. In Malatya, I did my homework, went on a picnic, played play-station, went ice-skateing and played computer games. The picnic was perfect. We were wet and we played football. We watched frogs, gave food to the fish. We were injured but it was brilliant! After Malatya, we went to Mt.Nemrut. It wasn't great. I didn't like travelling by car. The statues were perfect, but they were no heads! I recommend this trip, but it had horrible things too. You should go and visit Malatya and Mt.Nemrut Ege BAYRAM 5A

FETHİYE Last summer I went to Fethiye,Hillside Beach Club. I went there with my family and my friend Derin and her family.We stayed there for a week. We stayed in a family room. We liked our room because the view of our room was very nice. We could see the sea from our room. The weather was very hot. In the morning we went for breakfast. The animators said that: "The water sports are very enjoyable."After that we went to see the water sports.First we tried catamaran. In catamaran the waves were very high. Everybody was screaming. The animator said: "If you don't scream I will turn the catamaran off." It was very funny. Banana, lift-off and ringo were very enjoyable too. Derin and I found a secret place in the pool. We played games there. Beside these activities we played Band Hero, basketball, tennis, table tennis and archery. At night there were shows at the amphitheatre. You were born in Mersin but you have been living in Istanbul. Do you miss your hometown?

I miss Mersin very much however I can’t find enough time to visit Mersin. I usually stay in Mersin just for ten days.

When did you start playing basketball? How did your parents support you?

When I was at primary school, I started basketball. I played basketball for Efes Pilsen when I was 15. My parents always supported me. I was lucky. My parents let me go to Istanbul and stayed there alone when I was 15.

When you were at school, you were also playing basketball.What about your lessons?

It wasn’t easy to do both. I decided to be a good basketball player when I was 15. I had an opportunity to go to the university but the coach wanted me to stay all day. I had no time to study.

When you play the match with lots of spectators, can you hear your coach and do what he is saying during the match? We always plan what to do so it isn’t important if it is crowded and noisy. Sometimes the coach wants to add something, then it is difficult to hear that. But we can understand what he wants with his body language. Have you ever had an interesting experience in your life? Actually, yes. When we were travelling to Lithuania one of my friend said “I forgot to take my trainers.” I said “ So why are you coming with us? How can you run and play without them?” and we laughed. When we arrived the indoor sports hall, I realized that I forgot my uniform. I was very sad. I was making fun of my friend but it happened to me and I had to give my trainers to him and he played but I couldn’t. You have got basketball training schools. What can you say about the future? I am very happy that so many young children are interested in basketball. There are a lot of good basketball players. It is important to start doing sports at very early ages.

“TELEVISION”. Below that there was a picture I’d

never seen before. I thought it was a television.

There were some people inside it. I wanted to make

them free. But it was a picture, not real. So I

couldn’t. Then I turned some more pages. I saw a

picture below which was written “MOBILE PHONE”

But I skipped it, too. I saw different titles like DVD

player, music player, camera, wii. At the end I

shook myself. I stood up and looked at the

calendar. It was 1903.

I will find the way how to get a Christmas tree from Santa Claus’ cave because the treasure is there. ‘’ When I read the note, I decided to find the treasure. I looked at the map carefully and took it with me. The map started from the river. I crossed the river then I saw a lot of trees. I was in the middle of the forest. The map showed there was a cave. But how could I find the cave? There were lots of trees. Suddenly I realized a cottage, there was dense smoke coming out of the chimney. However there wasn’t a house on the treasure map. Then I revised the map again and again. I understood that Santa Claus’ cave was actually this cottage. When I entered the cottage there was a lady. I said hello to her. However I couldn’t see the big hole and I fell down from a high tower then I was lying on the floor. I heard a voice which was calling my name “Bora, Bora!”. She was my mum and I opened my eyes. I realized that I had a nightmare. It was a very exciting and interesting experience for me.

Suddenly, I saw ghosts, vampires and zombies coming out from the book. Then I heard my mum’s voice calling my name and wishing me a happy new year. The truth is that I fell asleep while I was waiting for 24:00 o’clock. It was just a nightmare!

I recently went to see the movie “Twilight” .It’s an action film starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart. The film is based on a book written a few years ago by Stephenie Meyer. The story is very gripping. It’s about vampires and it has a happy ending. The acting is very good. Edward is a vampire ,he loves Bella .Bella is a human. However she likes vampires and she learns that Edward is a vampire, she loves Edward too. But their love may hurt them. This is a fast moving film. It’s not too violent. It was a bit scary. Go and see it if you can.

He asked the girls to go to Barcelona together. Vicky would marry soon so she refused but Christina wanted a serious relationship. Christina and Antonio went to Barcelona together. However they didn’t know that he had an old crazy wife who tried to kill her husband, Antonio. The biggest problem was both girls fell in love with Antonio. You should go and see the movie. Neady is her friend and she wants to help Jennifer. The music and special effects are incredible. The acting is realistic. Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried acted very well. I think this film is the most beautiful film in the world. I didn’t want to have a break when I was watching it. I recommend it to everybody. But don’t forget, you can watch it if you are over 13.

Last summer we went to Paris. In Paris we visited lots of historical places. When we got hungry, we went to a restaurant in the city centre. We ordered some chips. What a Terrible Day

Two weeks ago I forgot to get up early on Wednesday. When I got up, it was nine o’clock. I missed the school bus. That day I had an English exam and it was in the first lesson. Should CCTV be installed in schools

In March this year, Sam Goodman, 18, walked out of his politics lesson to protest against four CCTV cameras that had been installed overnight in the classroom. He was joined by all but one of his classmates. Goodman says his school, an Essex comprehensive, told the class that the cameras had not been switched on yet, and that when they were, they'd be used for teacher training purposes only. I think this is the worst job to do ever. I would never do this job.The cosmetic industry goes to great lengths to make sure people smell good

after using their product and towards this end employs hundreds of armpit sniffers. The effectiveness of both antiperspirants and deodorants is still tested in the old fashioned way, using the power of the human nose. Men and women are tested in simulated hot room conditions, in order to understand the science of sweating. Deodorant companies totally rely on these people to test their products and thanks to the work of these brave sniffers; consumers can come up smelling good. They protect us from the front lines in the battle with sweat and odor, as they sniff and probe thousands of armpits each year. A single sniffer is said to sniff around 60 armpits an hour and they take three sniffs per pit to assess the intensity of the body odor, all the while using their clipboards to note down offensive odors on a scale of 1 to 10. Consequently, there should find another way to examine the smell and scale it in another way.

I've tried and any other path I've taken I approached it half-assed without any true passion for it and that is worse than death. Two different types of fame but one is more tolerable than the other, in my opinion.

Her name’s Duygu she is ill manered because you can’t understand when she is doing something.She is a crazy girl but if you don’t meet her you can guess she is hardworking and reserved.But if you met she you can understand me.And she is hot headed.If my thoughts aren’t same with her thoughts,she is starting to get angry.But she is cheerful actually and she is a modest person.We met her in the school service while ı was looking my Twilight collection. She saw me and said’’Can I look at it?’’and I said ‘’of course’’and then everyday we started speaking .I remembered when we went to new moon we bet about who first cried and she won.It was very comic.

I have a friend, his name is Efe. He is always

funny and he tells jokes everytime. He is my

classmate. He was born in Mersin but he grew up in

İstanbul. 2 years ago they came to Mersin again. He

is 14. He is good at soccer and playing the guitar.

He is tall and plump. He has pretty nose and he is

big cheeked. He has straight fair hair. He has small

eyes .

He is dependable, I always share my secrets with

him. He has a bad side, he is hot headed; when

they hit him. He always argues with his mom. He is

sometimes sophisticated when he is bored.

All in all he is a good boy and he is my best

friend. I wish I could see more of him all my life.

me. This year, I want you to be more

flexible for my lessons and for my exams . If

you always say to me ‘Study , study’ I don’t

want to study. If you say less than the other

times, I will study to my lessons. If you

allow me to go out, I promise I will be a

good student. I’m going to talk about

presents . This year I want an Ipad because

my laptop always breaks down and it’s very

old for me. And I want a hamster or a cat

for my bedroom. I know you don’t love pets

but I love them very much. That’s all! I

want two presents and more flexibility for

new year. Happy New Year!!

Why must parents be baised? They make life worse. I will start my topic with a little story. It was an ordinary day. I was solving tests.ı finished them and I started searching about Vlad Tepes because it was my English homework. Than my mum appeared and started shouting. She said ‘’You are addicted to computer.Enough is enough. I will throw it away from the window.’’ then I said I was just doing my homework but she didn’t belive me. Why are they too prejeduced? They don’t think we are doing homework. In their mind we are computer and phone monsters and they think if they don’t warn us, we will play games all day. But it’s wrong. We know we have exams and a future. I think parents should be relaxed and be easy on their children. But they should never be too relaxed because children can be addicted to things easily.

Every teenager has arguments with their parents. And all teenagers think they are right, but their parents are wrong. All parents think they are always right because they are more experienced. They want ther children to go to good universities, and have a good life. They think their children don’t study much. My parents don’t think like that. They think I study enough. But sometimes they want me to study more. But I don’t want. So we start arguing. But in the end my mum says “ Now I’m right, stop arguing with me!”. Then I go to my room. It’s a usual thing for us.Sometimes they treat me like a child, I don’t like this situation. Then they say “Are you a child?” When we argue, then say “We are your parents we have lots of experiences. Why are you arguing with us?”. But a lot experiences don’t mean that they are always right. Their classic sentences is “In our childhood…”. Why are you saying that? It’s in the past. Now it’s not your childhood. Why are you comparing these two? I think if we try to understand each other , we are not going to have these much arguments. If our parents are more considerate, we will be considerate to their opinions too. In my opinioun parent-teenager argument is a really important subject. And it’s a good solution I think.
