The chichen itzen Myans were peaceful, and never killed each other, until there was another le-gion of mayans who took them over and introduced human saca-rafice to there god’s to give them rain to give them the crops that they survived on. they also have a sacrafical well which is called a ‘senote’ where they threw Man, women and children into the se-note to please there god’s to give them rain and also to gain a better postion in the after life. The sports that the mayan’s played were also deadly, if the team lost, there worst player would be de-capitated, not only that but maybe even the victoorious teams best player might of even had their head decapitated as an honour of

being a victor of the game just to show that they played so valiantly and well and that they deserved such an honour like that.

The mayans of Uxmal were a peace-ful tribe and never really thought any battles between any other tribes. They mostly farmed off the land and prayed to their gods, mainly the rain god Chak. They would also obey the laws of their king and also the preacher. The preach-er had his own temple on top of a hill and the main temple of Uxmal was to pay homage to Chak. They would pray to him when they needed rain for there crops, animals and for drinking. they would make offerings to the gods to please them. They would go into panic if they didn’t get rain for months, the Mayan people would think that they have upset Chak. they would then of-fer more valuable luxury items which consisted of: Jade jewllery, honey, fine

clothes and fine luxury materials to please the gods. When they did get rain the Mayans would celebrate and collect as much water for drinking as possible.

Campeche is an old historic small sea-side city which is surrounded by large walls all around the city as if it is to fend off attacking enemy ships from attack-ing the city from the sea. This once small city was in ruins, but the mexican government have refurbished it here and rebuilt the buildings into a more representable condition. The buildings and roads are still under renovation and many of the buildings are off limits to normal civilians and toursists but con-struction workers are working to make them hospitable. The buildings in this fortified city are all painted in very light colours, maybe

this is to reflect the bearing sunlight? Or maybe it’s another reason that the buildings are this light shade of colour.
