Johan Swinnen, a Professorof Economics at the University of Leuven,Belgium, and the co-author of ‘Beeronomics:How Beer Explains the World’, will explainhow beer is so much more than just a drink.

Inequality and the 1%: What will Brexit bring?The UK currently has the highest recorded level ofincome inequality of any European country. This isprobably not a reflection of its economic efficiency.It may be part of the reason why Brexit is occurringand Brexit may also make such extremes ofinequality hard to sustain for much longer.

FRANCOIS PIENAAR
Francois Pienaar is a former captain of theSouth African national rugby team, who ledthe Springboks to an infamous 1995 RugbyUnion World Cup victory, portrayed in the2009 film Invictus. His achievement in sporton such an international level during NelsonMandela's post-apartheid presidency wasinstrumental in helping unite all SouthAfrican people behind a common cause.
Danny Dorling is a British social geographer and is currently the HalfordMackinder Professor of Geography at the University of Oxford.

The Economics of Love IslandAlex Teytelboym is an Associate Professor at theUniversity of Oxford. ‘Love Island’, which hasbeen described as ‘trashy escapism’, is seen bymany as a social and psychological experiment. Inhis talk, Teytelboym will illuminate another sideto the show, demonstrating how it potentiallyoffers important lessons in microeconomics.

Michael Platt is a British investor, hedgefund manager and philanthropist. He is theco-founder and managing director ofBlueCrest Capital Management, Europe'sthird-largest hedge fund firm; at its peak, ithas managed more than $35bn in assets.According to Forbes, Platt has a net worth of$6.5bn and was in 2018 named by theSunday Times as “the richest hedge fundmanager in the City.”
