2000 MW solar program : 4500 GWh per year,
9 billion USD, 10 000 hectares dedicated, 5 sites,First plant : Ouarzazate/500 MW – 2015
2000 MW New wind farms programs : produce 6600 GWh per year , 5 sites, savings of 2.5 million tons oil
RE/EE STRATEGY BY 2020
GWh per year , 5 sites, savings of 2.5 million tons oil equivalent of fossil fuels, 3.15 Billion $
Energy Efficiency national program : national audit of hospitals, hotels, public buildings, etc. industrial sector (audits), firewood improved technologies, residential energy saving, laws, etc
Renewable sources of energy as of 2015 will become the second source of electricity generation after coal
Wind Parks ongoing projects
1. Tanger2 (150 MW), 2. Koudia El Baida à Tétouan (300 MW),
+ Five new sites have been selected so far :
New sites identification (Atlas Wind) and 1000 MW are in progress (running by 2012)
2. Koudia El Baida à Tétouan (300 MW), 3. Taza (150 MW), 4. Tiskrad à Laayoune (300 MW) 5. Boujdour (100 MW).
- Projects are implemented in a PP partnership approach- The investment cost is estimated at 3.15 b $
- North region of Morocco will host six wind parks, thanks to their huge wind potential

Policy and legislative framework
Renewable Energies Law project approved : promoting Investment for
Export, assistance in site selections, permits and authorization, access
to National Grid and Interconnections, export of RE to Europe, etc,
- Under 2 MW declaration,
- More than 2 MW authorization
Transformation of CDER to ADEREE (+ EE)
Creation of the MASEN : Creating of a dedicated agency supported by the
State of Morocco (Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy) - Conduct the
overall solar 2000 MW project (design, choice of operators,
implementation, management,etc....)
