Getting started with access to Microsoft Learning Solutions
To get started with service activation please visit the Microsoft Volume License Services (MVLS) Web site at https://licensing.microsoft.com/eLicense/L1033/Default.asp. Once you are on the MVLS home page, click the Sign In button.
On the sign in page, enter your Windows® Live ID e-mail address and password and click the Sign In button.

Select an agreement and Microsoft Learning Solutions Online Service
After a successful sign in, the following page will be displayed. Click on Agreements to see the items related to your organization.

Designating a Subscription Contact person
After you have selected a Microsoft Learning Solutions Online Service, you must assign a subscription contact name. The subscription contact is the person responsible for administering the service for your organization.

Enter domain names
In order for your employees to use the online services of the Microsoft Learning Solutions E-Learning Library, the appropriate domain name(s) must first be entered for your organization. This is a critical step because all domains must be listed to ensure that all users can complete the authentication process.
Note: This step is only required for the Technical E-Learning Library, Desktop E-Learning Library, and Business Skills E-Learning Library online services. It is not required for the Technical Course Collection or MCP Exam Voucher online services.

Service activation e-mail
A service activation e-mail will be sent to the subscription contact, and includes the program code (also known as the access code) that employees can use to activate their online service.
Example: Technical E-Learning Library service activation e-mail
The service activation e-mail also includes an e-mail template to inform users about accessing the Technical E-Learning Library.

Service activation e-mail
The service activation e-mail will be sent to the Subscription Contact. This initial e-mail is notification that a separate e-mail message will arrive soon containing the single-use access codes for the Tech E-Learning Course Collections and/or MCP Exam Vouchers.

Confirmation e-mails
Online Service confirmation e-mails for the Tech E-Learning Course Collection and MCP Exam Vouchers are sent to the Subscription Contact. These confirmation messages provide the Subscription Contact with single-use access codes for distribution to individual subscribers. Also included is an e-mail template for use in explaining the subscription activation process to users.
A Tech E-Learning Course Collection access code allows one user to access one collection from the Tech E-Learning Catalog for a period of 12 months. The access code must be activated prior to the expiration of an organization’s Volume License subscription term.
An MCP Exam Voucher code allows one user to take one MCP exam, as long as the exam is taken prior to expiration of the organization’s subscription term.

Steps to activate and access your e-learning resources:
1. Go to http://business.microsoftelearning.com/activate/ and enter your access code. The code is case sensitive. Be sure to include dashes and do not enter any spaces.
2. Sign in using your Windows Live® ID. This will serve as your username and password each time you access the site.
3. After signing in, click on My Learning to see a list of available content. Select any course title to launch the offering. When you leave the technical resource, it will be saved in your My Learning area for quick retrieval on your next visit.

How to activate and access your e-learning resources
Redeem your certification exam voucher
Once you are ready to take a Microsoft Certification exam, go to www.microsoft.com/learning/mcpexams/register/. You may register online, via phone, or in person. During registration, you have the ability to enter your certification exam voucher code.
Note: Exam voucher codes can only be used once, although exams can be rescheduled if necessary. See specific rules regarding exam delivery on the http://prometric.com/microsoft. Detailed registration instructions are also attached.

Q. Why am I receiving error messages when I try to activate e-learning services?
A. The following messages appear when the activation process has not been followed correctly or is incomplete:
• “Not authorized to view this site”
• “At this time you do not have any active content associated with your account”
A common activation problem is that users do not receive or recognize their verification e-mail. Users should check their inbox and junk mail folders for verification messages from Microsoft and check with their IT administrator regarding blocked messages.
If error messages persist after following these steps, please visit the Contact Us page at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/support/worldsites.mspx to contact the E-Learning Support Team.
Q. Why do my users see prices associated with the courses? Do we need to pay more?
A. Your users may have entered the Microsoft Learning Manager site used to sell directly to end users rather than business users. Ensure that your users are visiting the correct site:
• First-time users should go to the sign in page at https://business.microsoftelearning.com/activate to enter their access code.
• After this initial sign in, returning users may go directly to https://business.microsoftelearning.com.
Q. Where can I find a list of the available e-learning collections?
A. For a complete catalog of e-learning collections please visit the Microsoft E-Learning Web site at https://www.microsoftelearning.com. Note that the prices listed for each course are retail prices and do not apply to Licensing Solutions customers.
Q. Where can I find a list of available MCP exams?
A. For a complete list of MCP exams please visit the Microsoft Learning Exam Catalog site at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcpexams/prepare/findexam.mspx.
Q. What collections are included in the Technical E-Learning Library?
A. The Technical E-Learning Library includes all of the collections from the IT Professional and Developer Catalogs located at https://www.microsoftelearning.com/default.aspx.
Exception: The Expert Series within the Developer Catalog is not included here.

Q. What is the difference between a multi-use access code and a single-use access code?
A. Multi-use access codes are used for E-Learning Library Online Services and are available to as many individuals as are eligible relative to orders placed.
For example, an order for 10 Technical E-Learning Library licenses would result in one multi-use access code for use by up to 10 individuals. Each individual would have access to the Technical E-Learning Library until the end of the subscription term under which licenses were ordered.
Single-use access codes are used for the Tech E-Learning Course Collections and MCP Exam Voucher online services.
For these services, an order for 10 Tech E-Learning Course Collection licenses, for example, would result in 10 separate single-use access codes. Each code would provide each user with access to one Tech E-Learning Collection for 12 months, as long as the code was activated prior to the end of the subscription term under which the licenses were ordered.
The administrator could choose to distribute these 10 codes to up to 10 different users. Note that this could mean 1 code to 10 different users, 2 codes each to 5 users, or any other combination totaling up to 10 codes.
Q. Can I download and host any of the Microsoft E-Learning courses within my own Learning Management System (LMS)?
A. No. The Tech E-Learning Course Collections and E-Learning Libraries available through Microsoft Learning Solutions Online Service cannot be hosted within a customer’s LMS.

Q. How do I set up a Windows Live ID?
A. Establishing a Windows Live ID is easy. When setting up your account you may use an existing e-mail address, your corporate e-mail address (check company policies first), or create a new Windows Live Hotmail account.
A Windows Live ID is required before proceeding with the activation process for Microsoft Learning Solutions Online Service. The next few screens assume that you are creating a new Windows Live ID and a new Windows Live Hotmail account prior to the activation process.
Go to the Windows Live site at https://signup.live.com/signup.aspx and click on Or get a Windows Live e-mail address. Follow the steps below to create a Windows Live ID.

Q. What can I do if some users are encountering problems when creating their Windows Live ID?
A. Windows Live ID has its own support team and can be contacted using the Help Central link on the Windows Live ID Web page.
Q. What should I do if all of my users cannot access Windows Live ID?
A. On occasion, when several IDs are created in a short period from the same IP address, Windows Live ID may block further creation of new accounts pending confirmation that the activity originates from a legitimate source. Users may see the error message below. Use the click here link to contact the Windows Live ID support team for assistance in resolving this issue.
Note: If an error message is shown that contains an alphanumeric code as shown below, it may be helpful to the support team in identifying specific problems.
