Special Study by PM Institute of Advanced Study on Social Equity

Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

The Hon’ble Members hailing from Odisha expressed the opinion that monitoring of the Scheme should be done in coastal districts or the nearby coastal districts in the State where caste discrimination is very common like Angul, Jajpur, Ganjam, Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Kendrapara.

Findings of the report of the Districts Covered : Kendrapara, Jajpur and Dehenkanal are as follows1.Social Equity : There was no discrimination in cooking serving or seating arrangement on the basis of gender, caste and community in any school under study.2.Engagement of Cook-cum-Helpers : In Dehenkanal so far the social composition of cooks are concerned, the number of SC and ST cooks are very less.
