“ Nothing ventured nothing gained “Welcome to the first Mid-western Ontario Simmental & Angus Bull Sale. Firstly we would like to thank all the buyers of Rehorst Farms Ltd. females at the 12th Ontario Autumn Simmental Classic sale last September. Support for our program is very much appreciated and signals to us that we are on the right track to be offering the “right kind” of cattle. You the bidders, buyers and interested cattle people are the most important part of the cattle business.

Rehorst Farms Ltd. has 15 Simmental bulls on offer for your consideration and we feel we have an excellent selection of high quality, deep pedigreed and BIO performance tested bulls for almost any situation, and we know that buying the next herd bull is the most important decision any cattleman has to make. Any extra weight at market time has never mattered more than today with great beef prices. Our R Plus Blackedge daughter is the dam of one of the feature bulls. Also 2 sons from our flush cow Sarnia 6S who’s daughter topped the Autumn Classic sale. 2 sons from our Crocus 97U flush cow and 2 sons from our Heather 29X flush cow have sons in the sale . The dam’s side of the pedigree is crucial and we think we are offering some of the best.

2 black white face bulls, and a white faced red bull are featured, “the chrome” is the new look these days!!! The main sire group is sired by Lewis 322U or “Stubby” as the industry knows him. 7 Stubby bulls and 4 from our herd sire Rehorst Blk Wheatland 680Y, who is a son out of the great Wheatland 680S bull. 2 full bloods are offered, featuring a son out of the calving ease IMAX bull. The group rounds out with an awesome 2 year old Upgrade son with wickedly great epd’s and a 2 year old full blood Champs Bravo grandson who’s dam is right out of the best of the Carl Laur program .

403A is going to give your herd a bright spark for sure and might be the best and most complete bull in the offering, breeders take a second look. He is thick and as deep as they come and all in perfect balance. The Stubby look and hair finish off the part. We bought his dam Heather 29X as the high selling heifer calf at the Marywood dispersal here in Ontario and she has not disappointed. 403B is the ET calf and 410B is her natural bull calf. 406A is a bull we are quite proud of. A standout all year long with his stylish, long, flat topped and thick body and shape. Oh my you have got to love the chrome! We knew he was special when topped the weaning weight chart here at RHF weighing 970 lbs in late August. With Stubby as his sire, not much more to say about this bull. His Crocus 97U donor dam was one of the high sellers at the Marywood dispersal. Balanced EPD’s and a pedigree that runs deep on both sides, we think 406A will give you proven genetics that will make some superior females as well as potential herd bulls and awesome steers . The sale feature for sure!! At RHF we had the rare opportunity to pick a heifer calf, Miss R Plus 1118Y out of the great R Plus herd from Saskatchewan they do not sell many heifers, ever!!! and thanks to Marlin for the opportunity . She is one of the few R Plus Black Edge daughters here in Ontario . Most of you will know that R Plus Black Edge is the sire of the great Stubby bull that is certainly leaving his mark on the Canadian Simmental industry. The dam of 309B is Miss R Plus 1118Y, she is a powerhouse cow with epd’s that are tops in the Simmental industry. Top 2% on calving ease, top 4% on weaning weight and top 2% on yearling weight. The sire of 309B is Rehorst Black Wheatland 680Y a son of the great Wheatland 680S bull and out of a Black Irish Kansas cow we bought from Taylors Black Simmentals from Kansas, home of Black Irish himself. The best part is the pedigree runs so deep it sells itself. When you see 409B you will see he is a powerhouse like his dam and sire, and he sells himself as a very complete bull. 415B is the ET bull calf from our top Sarnia 6S cow and the combination with Stubby has worked out fantastic. A full Stubby sister topped the Autumn Clas-sic sale last fall selling to Neilson Land & Cattle for $7000. He has great balance, thick and that Stubby look in a little more moderate frame. Breeding on the dam’s side goes back to our 6K TE McCallister that we purchased in Kansas and she is still producing every year. OK for heifers and cows. Maternal brother sold to Henk Lise in Hagersville 2 years ago.

401A is a red version full brother to 406A, out of the same flush from our Crocus 97U and Stubby as his sire. You got to love the Stubby calves, he stamps out consistent calves each and every time. 417B is our first bull from the calving ease Anchor D Imax, and wow what a job, this full blood bull is muscular, thick topped, balanced and strides out perfectly. His dam Car Laur Xquisite 571X was the high seller at the Autumn Classic, straight out of the best Car Laur has ever offered. If you are looking for that fullblood with calving ease here he is. 421B is another example of what our 680Y bull is capable. This guy is wide ,long, thick and muscled . He keeps getting better each day. He was noticed all year in the pasture with his “chrome” white face. His dam is a granddaughter of Black Irish Kansas, so you know the milk and maternal will be some of his strong points.

440B is the youngest bull in the offering, but my oh my he is catching up. He impressed us so much with his structure, thickness and growth we just had to include him. He is a Stubby son and here is an example of what this sire is capable. The dam of 440B and 415B is a daughter from our 6K cow we bought in Kansas. Real nice balance in his epds’s.

Paradise Farms consists of 300 acres, 45 minutes north/west of Toronto in Caledon, Ontario. The Paradise Herd began in 2008 with the pur-chase of 5 cows. We have quickly expanded to today at 125 purebred Angus Cows. Our selection criteria is very critical for strong maternal and paternal characteristics, good feet and legs, well balanced udders, great disposition, easy fleshing, calving ease and backed by strong pedigrees. We are as critical when we consign females and bulls to sales. We only keep a few bulls a year and steer the remainder to be finished off for our meat program. We are very involved in the agricultural industry and are watching changing trends. We use high quality, industry leading AI Bulls in our breeding program.

We currently finish approximately 1,200 head per year, supplying our meat products to several high end restaurants in Toronto, as well as our own 3 restaurants “Paradise Farms Prime Beef Bistro” and our two butcher shops.
