pwesto ng manager natin na kamamatay lang?
Boss: Ok lang sa akin na ikaw ang pumalit sa kanya, ewan

MANAGER: Hoy! San ka pupunta? Di ka pa ba-yad

JUAN: Wala po akong pe-ra.
MANAGER: Ito ang parusa mo – Waiter, bigyan mo

JUAN: Ano pong gagawin ko ditto?
MANAGER: Kainin mo yan! Pag inuna mo ang

July is a non-designated month in the calendar
of activities of Rotary International. This is the start of
another year of service and fellowship under a new ad-
ministration for RY 2019-2020. But our dear club, in
July alone, has initiated 5 service projects already. We
Rotarians at work surely made a positive impact to the
betterment in the lives of the less privilege people in
our community. Kudos to our club leaders headed by Prexy Josh.

August is membership and extension month. This is an opportune time for
us to bring in qualified and active members to our club! Calling all Rotari-
ans who has been in our club for quite some time and have NEVER spon-
sored anyone for membership.
—-z Z z —-
When it comes to extension, we are the pioneering club in our 3 zone
here with 3 daughter clubs namely: RC Greater Gen. Santos, RC Polomo-
lok 101 and RC Gen. Santos Tuna Park. All sound and healthy!

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service
as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and
foster:
FIRST: The development of ac-
quaintance as an opportunity
for service;
SECOND: High ethical standards
in business and professions;
the recognition of the worthi-
ness of all useful occupations;
and the dignifying of each Ro-
tarian’s occupation as an op-
portunity to serve society;
THIRD: The application of the ide-
al of service in each Rotarian’s
personal, business, and com-
munity life;
FOURTH: The advancement of
international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the ideal of service.

MARK DANIEL MALONEY President, Rotary International
2019-2020
During 2019-2020, I am encouraging Rotarians and Rotaractors to grow Rotary. We must grow our service, we must grow the impact of our projects, but, most im-portantly, we must grow our membership so that we can achieve more.
Let us try a new approach to membership, one that is more organized and strategic. I am asking every club to form an active membership committee consisting of people of different backgrounds who will look methodically at the leadership of the community.
Your club's membership committee will then apply Rotary's classification system — designed to ensure that the range of professions in your com-munity is well represented — to identify potential leaders with the skill, the talent, and the character that will strengthen your club. If your club's mem-bership committee is unsure how to proceed, look to the club membership committee checklist on Rotary.org for clearly defined steps to organizing its work.
How else will we connect to grow Rotary? We will also form new types of clubs — either independent clubs or satellite clubs — with different meet-ing experiences and engaging service opportunities, not just where there is no Rotary, but also where Rotary is already thriving. No Rotary club in the world can possibly serve all segments of its community. Therefore, we must organize new clubs to engage the community leaders who cannot connect with our existing clubs.
Growing Rotary is all about taking the connections that make our organiza-tion unique in the world and strengthening and multiplying them. Let us commit ourselves to growing Rotary and to welcoming the next diverse generation of women and men as Rotary Connects the World.

My fellow “Champion” Club Officers and Ro-tarians, This is going to be a very exciting Rotary journey for the District and your Club. I know that
with our joined efforts, we CAN and WILL be able to share each Ro-tarian’s aspirations in life. Let us work to achieve our goals and make this Rotary year the most significant and memorable one.
At our Governor’s training held during the International Assembly in San Diego, USA, I had the privilege of joining more than five hun-dred of our Rotary leaders who lead their respective Districts. To-gether, we committed to the vision of our Rotary International President Mark Maloney who encouraged us to live by the theme: “Rotary Connects the World”. Reflecting on it and our work as Rotarians throughout a century of doing good, I realized that at the heart of our Rotary experience is to make innovative and sus-tainable CONNECTIONS with our members, people of different cultures, traditions and religions. Once connected with our fellow partners in service, they will be persevered to make a difference in our communities and provide professional opportunities we would otherwise not encounter if not through Rotary.
This year, we shall work towards four essential priorities: First, is to grow Rotary – by strengthening membership, both at the Club and Rotaract levels.
Secondly, is to allow Rotary meetings become more flexible, closer to our homes and involve our Family in our service projects or activi-ties.
District Governor’s Message
MIDTOWNER VOLUME 27 | ISSUE 03| AUGUST 1, 2019
8
Third, is to develop leaders beyond the club level and provide opportu-nities for them to grow. And fourth, broadening projects related to the SIX Areas of Focus in alignment and partnership with the United Na-tions.
By the end of the Rotary year, we hope to be able to address Rotary’s major priorities on supporting The Rotary Foundation (TRF) through our personal and continuing contributions to the Annual Pro-grams Fund and the End Polio Campaign. With greater emphasis to expand our presence, it is only through our Public Image initiatives would our community be able to value and appreciate the good deeds
that we Rotarians have been doing in the past 100 years.
Thank you for being part of my Champion Team and May God contin-ue to bless us for our enduring love to SERVE BEYOND OUR-SELVES.
Yours in Rotary Service,
PHILIP N. TAN

Secretary Paolo Acharon
Greetings to all Midtowners!
The past week has been a busy one
for the club. We started out with extending
assistance to the unfortunate fire victims of Purok Islam thru
our family packs for each affected families. Afterwhich, 2 in-
ductions were held at Koronadal and Polomolok witnessing
the turn over of officers of our fellow Rotary Clubs. Finally, the
week was eventually capped by the District Wide Rotary event
for the Blood Letting activity last sunday at Robinsons.
In sum, we had a good mix of service as well as fun.
This has been possible largely due to the presence and coop-
eration of everyone. Thank you very much! Lets enjoy Rotary.
