Experience in Dentistry: I qualified in 1992 and since then I have been working as a partner in Studio Di Gioia Dental Practice, a private practice in Bari, Italy. The practice was founded in 1970 by my father Prof Elio Di Gioia, MD, DS Professor in Orthodontics at the University of Bari. He retired in 2002. My elder sister and my younger brother are the other partners of the practice and we have 5 associate consultant dentists, an anaesthetist and maxillofacial surgeons working with us on subspecialties as part of the dental practice. I have been Clinical Director of the practice (1998-2007) and I gained experience on Dental Practice Management and Team Leading. In 2011 I was invited for a course on Aesthetic of the Face and the smile at the University of Padova (IT), School of Specialization in Orthodontics (Director: Prof. GA Favero). I opened a dental practice in 2011 as partner of Favero Di Gioia Costa Clinic in Wimpole Street. But left in September 2014 to join the LCIAD team. From September 2014 I’m proudly part of the LCIAD team. LCIAD is a well-established dental practice in the world famous medical and dental area of Marylebone in the West End of London where dental care is at the highest possible quality. Facial Analysis, Digital smile design and Treatment Plan I have more than ten years’ experience with clinical photography and digital records. Together with my technician we developed a photographic and video approach to better evaluate all the aesthetic and functional aspects of facial analysis to provide the most appropriate treatment for each case. I have always taken pride in diagnosing and planning each case completely and clearly defining all treatment steps well in advance to completion of treatment. More recently I have started using Keynote for the cosmetic treatment planning simulation according to Dr Coachman’s Digital Smile Design protocol which is a great tool for treatment plan presentation and acceptance. I’m doing some research on facial aesthetics with a 3D scanner in collaboration with the Politecnico di Bari http://www.polishape3d.it Fixed Prosthodontics I have over 20 years of experience in a range of fixed prosthodontics from periodontal patients requiring full mouth rehabilitation with or without dental implants

and single crowns in young healthy patients. I have been trained to build up my treatment step by step using gnathological devices from the Denar Articulator and Pantograph to the modern Kavo Arcus Digma electronic facebow. I’m confident with full mouth rehabilitation in periodontal disease as well as implant supported prostheses with experience with Nobel Biocare system and immediate loading using Nobel Guide. Oro-Facial Pain and dental sleep disorders I have been dealing for over 20 years with gnathological rehabilitation, oro-facial pain and temporo-mandibular disorder management with or without splint therapy. I gained considerable experience with the Michigan splint. My approach to TMJ disorders has been guided by training under Professor Sandro Palla and Professor Guido Macaluso, a world-renowned author on bruxism. It is a multidisciplinary approach being supported by TMJ physiotherapy as well as cognitive behavioural therapy. I am also well experienced in the treatment of bruxism and muscle hypertrophy with Botulinum Toxin. I am also developing my knowledge and treatment skills in the very new and fascinating field of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome (OSAS). Facial Aesthetics and Cosmetic Dentistry During the last seven years I have been concentrating on aesthetic bonded reconstructions utilising metal-free restorations including invisible tooth coloured composite resin restorations, Cerec, zirconia, alumina, lithium disilicate and leucite-based ceramic.to improve on aesthetic outcomes. My main interest is the integration of perioral and soft tissue treatment in dentistry. I took a European Masters Degree on Perioral and Oral Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatment in Dentistry at The University of Padua (Italy). My final dissertation was titled “Adverse effects of Hyaluronic acid fillers: a review”.

I received advanced training in several facial rejuvenation techniques including: skin bio-revitalization with hyaluronic acid (HA) or platelet Rich Fibrin (PRP) and Platelets Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF), facial recontouring with non-surgical cosmetic treatments using botulinum toxin (Vistabel, Azzalure, Bocuture,) and resorbable dermal fillers. I’m experienced with variety of hyaluronic acid-based products

(Restylane, Belotero, Regenyal Idea, Stomygen, Ial system-Fidia) as well as facial soft lift by the use of a micro-cannula. I currently use chemical skin-peels, polylactic acid (Sculptra) and Silhouette suture for suspension facelift. My main activity within the scientific Society POEISIS® (Perioral and Oral Esthetic Sciences International Society), where at present I serve as vice-president, is to deliver training in facial aesthetics techniques to dental surgeons The Italian project Bellezza con Sicurezza started in 2011has been a very successful residential training for dentists on injectable cosmetic products throughout Italy and still continues. As a trainer I thoroughly enjoy this experience that is not only exciting but very inspiring. I’m honoured to collaborate with Mr Franco Fares (https://it.linkedin.com/in/franco-fares-753a716b) one of the best Italian dental technicians in removable prosthesis. During the last ten years I have been trained to approach removable prosthodontics with the Gerber technique. More recently I have been trained to solve the edentulous case in a quicker way with the SET (Simplified Edentulous Treatment) approach from Prof Preti (University of Turin). Restorative Dentistry I have the ability to manage direct and indirect restorations in the anterior aesthetic zone as well as posterior teeth. Periodontology

I have been trained in diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease. I can carry out a non-surgical periodontal procedures and periodontal surgery where required. I do like all the periodontal management but I perform just the amount of surgery I need to finalize the results for my restorative / prosthetic patients. I’m experienced in resective surgery and simple mucogingival surgery Endodontics I carry out endodontic treatment, according to the latest rotary NiTi techniques. I have been trained by Dr Filippo Santarcangelo whose fame has recently spread worldwide. Pedodontics I have always carried out paediatric dental care except for orthodontic treatment. I have experience in treating children from 2 ½ years of age without requiring sedation. I have found the time and effort spent in this to be very rewarding. UK experience. I had a three month locum experience on general dentistry in a private practice in Reading between 2008 and 2009. From September 2010 till May 2011 I had a part time collaboration for facial aesthetics in a private practice in London. I have been partner and administrator of Favero Di Gioia Costa Clinic (2011-2012) and CQC manager (2012-2013) obtaining a full compliance for the new business. The practice was an exclusive Italian dental practice located in the most elegant heart of London where we offered cosmetic dentistry, implants and facial aesthetic treatments. From September 2014 I’m honoured to be a member of the LCIAD team under the direction of Dr Koray Feran. Interests

Most of my energy have been dedicated to my family since we moved to England in July 2007 following my husband who came here as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon.

I like sailing especially with my family. Sailing can be an instrument to teach your kids to love and respect the nature, to enjoy and be passionate in your life. We enjoy the sun and good food.

I’m very keen on healthy food and I’m trying to educate my patients as well as my family to gain a healthy life, not only a healthy mouth.

I like horse riding, reading, listening to classical and modern music and theatre.

In my youth I was involved in voluntary assistance to haemophiliac patients during summer camps.

1986 -1993 I was an active member of GET, a youth cooperative for education in the visual arts. I have been involved in the organization of ten national conventions and workshops about big screen films and films made by children. The GET is still very active in Italy. I’m keeping a genuine passion for the world of cinema.
