They’re back! Six years ago, after a 61-year absence, George Blackwell of England returned to Minnedo-
sa with his companion Edna Brown through the He-roes Return program, which assists veterans in funding trips to locations they trained at. Th is month, the couple
returned for a second visit through the Heroes Return program and spent fi ve days seeking out almost every nook and cranny of the community which George feels a very strong connection with.

The Minnedosa Mavericks have done it again, bring-ing home with them not only the championship title
but also the record of having the most championships in a row. Th e team claimed their seventh championship after they defeated the host Carberry Royals with a big 17-3 win last Friday, August 17th. John Hutton pitched the win for Minnedosa, allow-ing two hits and one walk, striking out seven. Hutton scored three times for the Mavs, who won their best-of-fi ve series 3-1. Devin Foord, Mitch Hutton, Andrew Richards, and Brad Roth each scored twice.
