JOB DESCRIPTION – Sessional Support Worker
Reporting to: Project Officers Responsible for: Supporting services for individuals and groups of peopleDuration: 8 month contract until 31st March 2018 Salary: £16,354 per annum, pro rataHours: 18 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 10-4pmLocation/operation: The jobholder will liaise with the Project Officers at the three centres. The post will be across three of MiMH’s centres – Hertford, WGC/Hatfield and Stevenage with some travel across all centres if required.

Purpose of PostIt will be expected that this post holder will work closely with Project Officers in each centre in Hertford WGC/Hatfield and Stevenage, maintaining services across the centres and reporting to the Project Officers. Embedding a recovery orientated approach to all services. The Recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.
To provide support services to individuals and groups of people to help promote their social and personal skills and assist their recovery and prevent a relapse in their mental health.

The post holders will need:
To focus on the individual person not the diagnosis or service. To monitor outcomes and evaluate the service. To work in partnership with those who need support and those who support them. To enable and support self-management, promote autonomy and decrease the need for people to
rely on statutory services.
Principal Responsibilities
To liaise with referral partners and the wider community such as NHS Targeted Support Team (previously known as CMHT), housing organisations, GPs and voluntary sector organisations
Within the guidance of the Care Plan and Risk Assessment to provide a service which encourages, motivates and builds individuals’ self-esteem and confidence. This will include goal setting and support with social and practical skills development as well as providing information/activities, as agreed by line manager.
To gather, record and provide information, both manually and electronically, to monitor the service provided, as required for funding purposes.
In accordance with MiMH’s policies, to maintain confidentiality and respect the rights of people who use our services. To report any concerns/issues to the appropriate person (e.g. line manager).
Be flexible in terms of group activity cover Attend appropriate meetings to receive and provide information relating to services provided. To participate in regular supervision sessions, staff meetings, and all mandatory training as
required. To maintain and develop knowledge and skills through supervision, training and other
development opportunities. To participate in general office cover at the MiMH office as required. To undertake any other necessary duties to ensure the smooth and successful development of the
project, including administration. To be aware of, and adhere to, MiMH and NHS policies and procedures at all times. To undertake other duties as may be reasonably determined by your line manager. Commitment to adhering to Health and Safety guidelines for safe working

The post will be across three of MiMH’s centres – Stevenage, Hertford, WGC/Hatfield. Some travel around the County might also be required.

BENEFITS
All full-time employees have an entitlement of 25 days paid holiday per year (April 1st - March 31st). Statutory bank and public holidays are in addition to standard holiday entitlement. Part-time employees' holidays entitlement is pro-rata.
