HANDy TIPS: Single Hex or Double Hex?By using a single hex (6 point) socket, all sides of a hexagon nut or bolt are contacted with equal force when torque is applied. The 12 point is more popular because of easy positioning onto the head, and it gives twelve different angular positions.
