GENERALINSTALLATIONDATAThisequipmentisdesignedandsoldforcommercialuseonlybypersonneltrainedandexperiencedinitsoperationandisnotsoldforconsumeruseinandaroundthehomenorforusedirectlybythegeneralpublicinfoodservicelocations.Beforeusingyournewequipment,readandunderstandalltheinstructions&labelsassociatedwiththeunitpriortoputtingitintooperation.Makesureallpeopleassociatedwithitsuseunderstandtheunitsoperation&safetybeforetheyusetheunit.Allshippingcontainersshouldbecheckedforfreightdamagebothvisibleandconcealed.Thisunithasbeentestedandcarefullypackagedtoinsuredeliveryofyourunitinperfectcondition.Ifequipmentisreceivedindamagedcondition,eitherapparentorconcealed,aclaimmustbemadewiththedeliveringcarrier.Concealeddamageorloss-ifdamageorlossisnotapparentuntilafterequipmentisunpacked,arequestforinspectionofconcealeddamagemustbemadewithcarrierwithin15days.Becertaintoretainallcontentsplusexternalandinternalpackagingmaterialsforinspection.Thecarrierwillmakeaninspectionandwillsupplynecessaryclaimforms.
INSPECTION&ASSEMBLYUNCRATINGANDINSPECTINGUnpacktheunitandcomponentsfromtheshippingcontainer.Removeallvisiblepackingmaterial and those from inside the cooking chamber. If damage is discovered, file a claim immediatelywiththecarrierthathandledtheshipment.Donotoperatetheunitifitwasdamagedduringshipping.Thefollowingshouldbeincluded:MiniveyorMulti-PurposeOven,StainlessSteelLoadUp&UnloadTrays,4StainlessSteelLegs.
REMOVEALLHEATINGELEMENTSHIPPINGSUPPORTSPRIORTOPLACINGYOURUNITINTOOPERATION.ASSEMBLYANDINSTALLATIONThe unit was shipped with certain assembly required, plug into a standard outlet specified for its voltage and amp draw. If improper electrical supply is determined, contact a qualified electrician priortousingtheunit.Removalandreplacementofthepowercordandplugwillvoidthewarranty.Forassistance,contactyourlocalauthorizedserviceagentforserviceorrequiredmaintenance.Attachthe4legsbyscrewingthemintotheweldnutslocatedonthebottomoftheunit.Whencomplete,usetwopeopletocarefullyturntheunitupright.Levelunitbyadjustingthefeet(approximately1/2"adjustment).Neveroperateunitwithoutproperlegsinplace.Before using the unit for the first time,wipedowntheexteriorwithadampcloth.

ASSEMBLYANDINSTALLATIONcontinuedInstallunitinitsoperatingpositionallowsufficient space for operating personnel. InstalltheCrumb,LoadandUnloadTraysasshown,makingsuretheendsareatleast6"fromanyverticalcombustiblesurfaces.Haveanelectricianconnectinputpowertotheunit(s)inaccordancewithlocalelectricalcodes.Aconnectionterminalblockisinsidetheleftsidecavityformodelsnotprovidedwithacordandplugset.
ELECTRICALCONNECTIONBeforemakinganyelectricalconnectiontothisunit,checkthatthepowersupplyisadequateforthevoltage,amperageandrequirementsstatedontheratingplate.Awiringdiagramisincludedherewith.Disconnecttheunitfromthepowersourcebeforeinstallingorremovinganyparts.Beabsolutelysurethatthegroundconnectionforthereceptacleisproperlywired.Donotconnectequipmenttopowerwithoutpropergroundconnections.Impropergroundingmayresultinpersonalinjuryorfatality.

HEATINGELEMENTSInspectallheatingelementsintheunitforbreakage.Everyunitisproperlytestedpriortoleavingthefactory,butdamagemayofoccurredduringshipping.Ifabrokentubeisfound,donotapplypowertotheunit.Ifeverythingchecksout,TurnonMainPowerSwitch,Turnbothheatcontrolsandconveyorbeltspeedcontroltothemaximumsettingandcheckallheatertubesandconveyorforproperoperation.
COOLINGSYSTEMAftertheunitisinitiallyturnedon,allow5to8minutesforthefancoolingsystemtocomeon.Onceon, check the air intake area located under the unit and be sure that there is a sufficient flow of air intothecontrolbox.Keepareaundertheunitcleanfromobstructionsthatmayresultinrestrictedairflow to the control box. Restricting the air flow will cause the unit to run hotter then designed, causing theHi-Limittoturnunitoff.SeetheOvenComponentssectiononpage7forcontrolbox&Hi-LimitResetlocations.
FINALCHECKIfallheatersandconveyorsystemsareoperatingproperly,switchthemasteron/offswitchtotheOFFpositionandallowunittocool,thefanwillcontinuetocirculateair,coolingtheunituntiltheinternaltemperatureshavebeendecreased.Ifaproblemisdiscoveredduringanyofthesestart-upprocedures,immediatelyswitchthemasteron/offswitchtotheOFFpositionandnotifytheStarServiceDepartmentat(314)634-6303.

DAILYOPERATIONBakingintheseunitsisacombinationofheatandbeltspeed.Somefoodsmayrequiremoretopheatorvisaversa;otherfoodsmayrequirelowtopandbottomheatandslowbeltspeeds.Everyproductshould,therefore,betestedusingtheseparatetop&bottomcontrolsandthevariablespeedcontroltoarriveatthecorrectbalanceofheatandbeltspeed.Whenchangingheatandorbeltspeedsettingallowapprox.5minutesfortheoventostabilizeitselfatthenewsettings.Checkthepowercordtoinsurethatitispluggedintoaproperoutlet.Alwaysallow10to15minutesofpreheattimebeforeloadingtheunitwithproduct.Failuretoallow sufficient preheat time will result in unsatisfactory cooking until the cooking chamber reaches operatingtemperature.Eventhoughtheelementscanreachthereoperatingtemperatureveryquickly,acertainamoutoftimeinneededtoallowthecookingchambertoreachitsoperatingtemperature.

TURNUNITOFF,DISCONNECTUNITFROMPOWERSUPPLYORTURNPOWEROFFATWALLBREAKER,REMOVEPLUGFROMOUTLET.DAILY
1. TurnmainpowerswitchtotheOFFposition.Disconnectunitfrompowersourceandallowunittocool.
2. Usingamilddetergent,wipeexteriorsurfaces,cleanwithadampcloth.a.Forlightlysoiledbuild-up,cleanwithadampcloth.b.Forheavilysoiledbuild-up,useasoftdampclothandmilddetergent.DO NOT use caustic cleaners.
3. Removetheload&unloadtraybyliftingthemoutofposition.Cleanusingmilddetergentandwarmwater.
4. Remove each crumb tray by sliding each of them out from under the conveyor belt.C lean c rumb t rays by w ip ing w i th a damp c lo th and mi ld de tergent .DO NOT use caustic cleaners. Place trays back in place prior to putting unit back intooperation.

7. WhentheConveyorBeltisclean,takeadampclothandwipetheconveyor,removing anylooseparticlesonthebeltsurface.
8. RemovetheCrumbTraysbyslidingoutfrombeneaththeconveyorbelt.CleantheCrumbTraysbywipingwithadampclothandmilddetergent.DONOTusecausticcleaners.
DONOTRUNCONVEYOROVENWITHOUTCRUMBTRAYSINSTALLED, OVERHEATINGTOELECTRICALCOMPONENTSANDPREMATUREFAILURECAN OCCURE.

4. Nowthatthelinkshavebeenunhooked,theconveyorcannowbecarefullyremovedfromtheoven.Standingatoneendoftheoven.Startingwiththeendonthebottom,rolltheconveyorbeltuntilithasbeentotallyremoved.Takecarefulnoticebeingsurenottodamagetheheatertubes,andworkingitoverthedrivesprockets,(see Figure 2).
5. Clean conveyor belt in deep sink, caustic cleaners may be used.Foraheavysoiledconveyorbelt,soakovernightinhotsoapywater.
NOTE:DONOTATTEMPTTOCLEANTHEHEATERTUBES.6. Takethisopportunitytocleanandremoveanyloosematerialsinsidetheunit.Usinga
mildcleaneranddampcloth,carefullywipetheinsidesurfacesbeingsureNOTtocleantheheatertubes.DAMAGECANOCCURTOTHEHEATERTUBESFROMIMPROPERCLEANING.
DONOTSPRAYCLEANINGSOLUTIONSINTOOVENCAVITY.7. Reinstall conveyor belt by first laying the belt along the bottom of the oven cavity making sure
thehooksonthesidesarefacingtheinsideandtheendsofthehookswillbepointingawayformthedirectionofthebeltsonottocatchonanyinternalcomponentsonceputbackintooperation.Also,beingsuretoproperlyalignthebeltovertheConveyorDriveSprocketsshowninFig2.
NOTE:THEDIRECTIONOFTHEBELT.8. Next,pulloneendoftheconveyorbeltoverthetopofthe
sprockets,(beingsuretolinethelinksupproperlywiththesprockets)bringingthetwoendstogether.

13.Reconnectoventopowersupplyandcheckforproperoperation.

screwsremovedinstep3.10) Connectunittopowersource,reinstallthecrumb
trayandtestunitforproperoperation.
C. REPLACINGBELTDRIVEMOTOR1) DISCONNECTPOWERSOURCE.2) Afterunithascooled,removethecrumbtray,
andturnunitoversothebottomisfacingupward.Never place unit on its side.
3) Removethecontrolboxcoverwhichcontainsthefanmotor,byremovingthe(2)screws.
4) Removethesidepanelthatwillexposethedrivechainandsprockets.
5) Removesprocketfrommotorshaft,usinganAllenwrenchandlooseningtheset-screw.
6) Removethewirefromterminalblockconnectingthedrivemotortotheinternalwiring.Onunitsrated208or240volts,notewhichcolorleadsarebeingusedfortheseconnectionsandwhichleadiscappedwithglasstape.Thenewmotorshouldusethesamearrangement.Referencethewiringdiagramifneeded.
7) Removescrewsholdingmotorinplaceandremovemotorfromunit.
8) Putnewmotorinplaceandattachlooselywithmountingscrews.9) Replacesprocketonmotorshaft.
NOTE: The two sprockets must line up FLUSH with each other, so the chain does not twist any during operation. Also the hub gets installed closets to the motor.

5) Installthewasherontotheshaftofthespeedcontrol,followedbytheinstallation.
6) Whenmountingthespeedcontrolinthesidepanelbesuretopositiontheanti-rotationpinintheslotasshown.
7) Tightenthespeedcontrolassemblybyusingthelockingnut,followedbythecontrolknob.
8) Reinstallthesidepanelandtightenwiththescrewspreviouslyremoved.
E. CLEANINGAIRINTAKEONCEAWEEK. 1) DISCONNECTUNITFROMPOWERSOURCE. 2) Placeunitupsidedown. NOTE: You may damage the Heatertubes, by placing unit on its side. 3) Useavacuumcleanerandoradampclothtocleantheairintake. Thisprocedureshouldbedoneatleastonceaweek.

THOROUGHLY INSPECT YOUR UNIT ON ARRIVALThis unit has been tested for proper operation before leaving our plant to insure delivery of your unit in perfect condition. However, there are instances in which the unit may be damaged in transit. In the event you discover any type of damage to your product upon receipt, you must immediately contact the transportation company who delivered the item to you and initiate your claim with same. If this procedure is not followed, it may affect the warranty status of the unit.
LIMITED EQUIPMENT WARRANTYAll workmanship and material in Star products have a one (1) year limited warranty on parts & labor in the United States and Canada. Such warranty is limited to the original purchaser only and shall be effective from the date the equipment is placed in service. Star's obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair of defects without charge, by the factory authorized service agency or one of its sub-agencies. Models that are considered portable (see below) should be taken to the closest Star service agency, transportation prepaid.
> Star will not assume any responsibility for loss of revenue.
> On all shipments outside the United States and Canada, see International Warranty.
* The warranty period for the Ultra-Max, Hot Plates, Griddles, Charbroilers is (3) years parts & labor.
* The warranty period for the Star-Max, Charbroilers, Griddles, Hot Plates, Fryers & Finishing Oven is (2) years parts & labor.
* The warranty period for the JetStar six (6) ounce & Super JetStar eight (8) ounce series popcorn machines is two (2) years.
* ThewarrantyperiodfortheChrome-MaxGriddlesisfive(5)yearsonthegriddlesurface.Seedetailedwarrantyprovidedwithunit.
* ThewarrantyperiodforTeflon/Dura-Teccoatingsisoneyearundernormaluseandreasonablecare.Thiswarrantydoesnotapplyifdamageoccursto Teflon/Dura-Teccoatingsfromimpropercleaning,maintenance,useofmetallicutensils,orabrasivecleaners,abrasivepads,productidentifiersand point-of-sale attachments, or any other non-food object tha comes in continuous contact with the roller coating. This warranty does not apply to the “non-stick” properties of such materials.
> This warranty does not apply to "Special Products" but to regular catalog items only. Star's warranty on "Special Products" is six (6) months on parts and ninety (90) days on labor.
> This warranty does not apply to any item that is disassembled or tampered with for any purpose other than repair by a Star Authorized Service Center or the Service Center's sub-agency.
> This warranty does not apply if damage occurs from improper installation, misuse, wrong voltage, wrong gas or operated contrary to the Installation and Operating instructions.

PARTS WARRANTYParts that are sold to repair out of warranty equipment are warranted for ninety (90) days. The part only is warranted, the labor to replace the part is NOT warranted.
SERVICES NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY
PORTABLE EQUIPMENTStar will not honor service bills that include travel time and mileage charges for servicing any products considered "Portable" including items listed below. These products should be taken to the Service Agency for repair:
