Welcome to Rochester Minnesota!

Consistently recognized as one of the

most livable cities in America, Rochester

was rated number six of the “10 Best

Cities for the Next Decade” by

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine,

July 2010. Rochester is built on the

world renowned Mayo Clinic’s rock-

solid foundation. In return, the

community serves as host to 2.7 million

visitors each year, many of them

receiving care at Mayo Clinic.

Currently, more than 100,000 people

reside in the growing community of

Rochester. We are defining what is to be

a Destination Medical Community.

If this is your first visit, or you have not

been here in some time, you’ll be

pleasantly surprised at the new

developments and amenities around

Rochester. We are a city that values

diversity, the arts, higher education and

our many cultures. The University of

Minnesota Rochester has added a new

dimension of student life. Start

experiencing Rochester by strolling

along the vibrant Peace Plaza, around

the Peace Fountain, into The Shops at

University Square and throughout

downtown. Talk a walk along the newly

reconstructed 2nd Street over to the

Rochester Art Center and Mayo Civic

Center. Restaurants, fine shops and food

courts are connected by our climate-

controlled pedestrian skyway/subway

system.

Find out for yourself why the people of

Rochester, Minnesota are so excited

about this city that we can’t help but

cheer, “Rah! Rah! Rochester!”

Sincerely,

Ardell Brede, Mayor

City of Rochester, Minnesota
