NOVEMBER 2019 TREASURER’S REPORT
Here is a link to the 2019 November Financials (published to the web) and allied
files.
Here is a “downloadable” link in .xlsx format.
Carol, here is a pdf copy of the November’s Treasurer’s Report for attachment to
the digital version of the minutes. The pdf copy should keep links alive so anyone
viewing the pdf would have access to the full panoply of financial information.
Recast General Fund Statement:
The General Fund Statement has been expanded to include Ordinary and
Extra-Ordinary transactions arising from the Church Accessibility Fund.
See this memo to File for further details.
2019 Harvest Festival & Honey Fund:
The 2019 Harvest Festival Fund has been expanded to the 2019 Harvest Festival &
Honey Fund.
The General Fund Balance continues to disappoint:
Much of this is a result of transfers to the Church Accessibility Fund, but those
transfers stopped in July and the General Fund has continued it’s decline.
Here’s a comparison of GF Revenue vs. GF Expense by month;
St. Hugh’s bank balance @ 11/30/2019 is $27,240.86.
2020 Budget;
The 2020 preliminary Budget based on November Actuals will be put forward within
the next few days.

Call fon/varding connecting St. Hugh’s phone numberwith my cell phoneallows me to respond to St. Hugh’s inquiries even when I am off the Hill.This is the season for more visitors’ questions and reestablishing familycontacts. In addition to St. Hugh’s inquiries, I am noticing an increase in
calls about contacting members of the self-help groups meeting at thechurch. For information otherthan location and times of meetings, I havepermission from a member of the group(s) to refer those calls to him forfurther discussion. This month I have referred two such calls.

This is a report from the Fundraising committee as of Dec 8, 2019 A small group of energetic Bishop’s Committee members, James Sales, Lisa Uhl, Carol Rondeau and Julie Roy decided to create a special fundraiser for the Holidays. Temecula Honey Co. was contacted to sell us honey in 12 oz bear bottles for a wholesale price of $4.00. We choose 5 flavors and created a label that said, “St Hugh’s Heavenly Honey”. Temecula Honey Co. affixed the labels and delivered 75 bottles of each (total of 375) to James Sales on Nov 21.
At that time, St Hugh’s planned to sell them and include an informative tri-fold brochure about the church and its mission at the Rotary Club’s 53 annual Harvest Festival, Nov 29 & Nov 30. Unfortunately, terrible weather and snowy road conditions forced the Festival to be cancelled. The Honey has successfully been sold by different means. Below is a report about the sales to date. Some money is still not collected so these amounts are incomplete. A final tally of results will be made at the next meeting.
Nov 24 & Dec 1 Checks. $505.00 Cash. $232.00 Total. $737.00 collected Dec 8 Checks. $372.00 Cash. $30.00 Total. $392.00 collected Total collected: $1,129 as of 12/10 A few notes: Honey is sold at $8 each, or $15 for 2, or $21 for 3. Each additional bottle over 3 sells for additional $7.00. Diana Kurr took $288.00 worth of honey orders. And she is still selling and collecting the money. That money is not reflected in the above total. Sally Salter took honey and owes $42. This is not reflected in the above total. The enthusiasm by the congregation has been over whelming. The committee will continue to sell the honey bottles after services on Dec 15, Dec 22 & Dec 29. After that, we will assess the quantity left over and make a decision about selling in front of the Post Office during the week. I also wish to acknowledge the volunteer assistance of Joy Woodman, Merrie VonSeggern and Jacque Swerdfeger. Enthusiastically submitted, Julie Roy Fundraiser Chair
Sunday School ReportTo the Bishop's Committee
i 12/10/2019*The Feast of St. HughVery nice feedback. I will try to do something different each year. Ideasare encouraged.
*CurriculumWe have been using the 3+age curriculum. In addition, we have purchased the7+age curriculum. Except for our very youngest children, the 3+is too easy.However, the 7+needs to be done as guided/with teacher work. It is a bitcrazy having two different groups working on two different activities at onetime.
*New AcolyteDelighted to share the news that Sophia Dillon has consented to being an
acolyte. It looks like her first time will be Christmas Eve.
*Christmas Eve and Sunday School participationPlease know that I never know who is going to show up for a given churchevent and who is not. Without a lot of detail our families live very full lives.
For Christmas Eve I am sure of two children. Dan and I are working on whenthe Christ Child will be placed in the manger and what song will be
played/sung. As in past years any child that visits us on Christmas Eve is
welcome to be in our very simple celebration.
Christmas Eve is the celebration of a Child. I would like to encouragechildren to have front row/altar seats for the service. I will set up thechairs. I will sit with them. (In Sunday School the children are clear thatchurch is boring mostly because they cannot see.) For the Christmas Eve
party I am going to usher Dan and Sophia to the party through the back door.They will go to the table area ready to bless the food. The congregation willfollow. I would like it if we could have the children and their families filltheir plates first.
“Let the children come to me ...... .." Luke 18:15-17
