Piedmont Rescue Mission “Offering a Hand up, not a Hand out”
1982-2020
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalm 150:6
In our world today, with all the turmoil we are facing, let us not forget to Praise the Lord. It is so easy to
focus on our circumstances and get bogged down in what is wrong with the world that we forget to praise our
creator. At this time we need to remember the one who created us is in control of the world and what seems
to be chaos that is in the world right now. Nothing we are facing today has taken Him by surprise!
I am going to Praise the Lord in this letter for all the blessings He has and is bestowing on Piedmont Rescue
Mission ministries on a daily basis. Please join me in praising the Lord!
Alamance Rescue Mission: Praise the Lord we are all remaining healthy! Praise the Lord for the two
men who made a profession of faith in church two weeks ago. Praise the Lord for supplying all we have
needed to feed and take care of the men during this time. Praise the Lord for faithful men and women who
work along beside us in this ministry.
Alamance Pregnancy Services: Praise the Lord for at least 5 healthy babies born last month. Praise the
Lord for keeping all the moms healthy. Praise the Lord for supplying all the things we need for the babies
and the moms. Praise the Lord for health for both of our ladies that are maintaining the office. Praise the
Lord for the churches who have participated in the Baby Bottle Boomerang.
PRM Family Shelter: Praise the Lord for the electrician who has volunteered his time to do the electrical
work needed at the shelter. Praise the Lord for the precious family, including a Grandfather and 5 of his
grandsons who are volunteering their time to do the carpentry work needed at the shelter. Praise the Lord
for continued support for the shelter.
Good Samaritan Super Thrift: Praise the Lord we are able to open to the public again. Praise the Lord
our staff at the store are all remaining healthy. Praise the Lord we can receive and pick up donated items
again.
Praise the Lord for all of you who stand with us in prayer and financial support for all of the ministries of
Piedmont Rescue Mission!
Praise is a form of worship, so let’s worship the Lord with our praise today. We have so much to praise Him
for we could go on endlessly! He is a wonderful God and worthy of our praise.
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

For the first time in 3 months we were blessed with the “Men On A Mis-
sion” choir singing at church this last Sunday. What a blessing it was to see
two new men in the choir who just made a profession of faith in the Lord
several weeks ago. The men sang “He’s Got the Whole World in His
Hands”. The song was so appropriate for the times we are going through
these days. A reminder to us all that He has all of us who are His children
in His hand and He will take care of us.
As I listened to this song, memories flooded through my mind of our days
in Africa. As most of you know Tony fell down a 60 ft. well while in
Kenya. Remembering back to when this happened, Tony had been singing
“He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” that whole week before he fell.
Standing at the opening of the well screaming Tony to the top of my lungs, all I could think of was I had lost him. When
I finally heard his faint voice saying “I’m Ok” joy filled my heart to know that God had protected him and was holding
him in the palm of His hands. We have a wonderful God who has promised He will never leave us or forsake us.
We Praise Him for His loving and protecting hands during these times of uncertainty in our world today.
The mission is continuing to be very strict on sanitizing the building and wearing mask when in close contact. The Lord
is continuing to bless the men with health. Many of them work outside the mission so please remember to pray for their
safety on their jobs.
We have a special request for a gentleman here at this time. He has been diagnosed with Cancer and is struggling with
the next steps he will take in his life. Pray God will give him wisdom on what direction to go with his treatment. Please
pray for healing for him.
We thank all of you who pray for us daily and support the mission financially. God bless you !

It has been a hard couple of months, but we survived the store being
closed for 6 weeks!
We want to thank all of those who continued to donate items and support
us while we were closed. On the bright side, the time allowed us to
totally reorganize our back warehouse in order to make the flow of
merchandise to the store floor easier and to keep the shelves full!
Although we will be adding extra open days soon, our current limited
hours are: Thursday and Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday
100:00 am to 2:00 pm.
We are have continued our pickups again on Tuesday and Thursday and
Saturday Yard Sale pickups after 2:00 p.m. If you would like for us to
pick up from your house please call 336-229-4900 for an appointment.
Keep checking our Face book page at “Good Samaritan Super Thrift” for

in the store.
Please bear with us as we continue to navigate weekly changes during
this pandemic. Thank you for you support of Piedmont Rescue Mission.

At the beginning of June Zenora was born weighing less than 4 pounds . After spending
approximately 3 weeks in the hospital she was able to go home with her mom. Needless to
say her mom was ecstatic to finally get her baby girl home. Her big sister was so happy to
finally meet her little sister for the first time. Malisha brought the baby by the office for us
to meet. What a joy it was to finally see her and know she is home and healthy. Please pray
for this family as they go through many changes. God is working miracles in the marriage
relationship and bringing their precious family closer to Him and each other.
The Baby Bottle Boomerang is being held over til the end of July. We have had several
people come by to get bottles and to turn in full bottles. The Covid 19 issue has really been
a issue for us this year but we are so grateful to all of you who have made a way to partici-
pate regardless of the road blocks we have faced. We are leaving the outcome in the Lord’s
hand.
We did resume our classes in June, but because of the Covid 19 it seems the ladies are hesi-
tant to come out for the classes. Please pray that we will have more participation in the
classes in July. We are taking safety measures to make sure the ladies are protected and that
we are to. Thank you so much for all you do for Alamance Pregnancy Services.
God Bless You.

We are trusting the Lord to build the shelter into a home for so many women
with children in need. Within the last hour I have had a lady come into the
pregnancy services with 2 children and expecting a 3rd in 4 weeks who has been
put in a position of having nowhere to live. Please pray that she will find
adequate housing before her baby is born. We are saddened when we have to
turn ladies with such a need away.
The need is so great and sometimes we wonder why it takes us so long to get
things done for the shelter but we have to remember even in the delays God is in
control. In His time the shelter will be finished. We just have to continue to be
faithful to His calling and press on with the work.
We are so grateful to the volunteers who are stepping up to help us get the work
done. Without our volunteers the work would be even slower. Thank you to the
electrician, Sam Langford and for Ray Pankratz , a professional construction
contractor and his 5 grandsons for taking off of their busy work schedules to do
the work at the shelter.
Please continue to pray for and support the Family Shelter financially.
Thank you for your support and God bless you.
