CAMPUS CONNECTIONS – STUDENT ORGANIZATION FAIR
Each year, during Great Beginnings, the Center for Student Involvement hosts an annual student
organization fair called “Campus Connections!” This year, the event was held on Wednesday,
September 12, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Curris Center Small Ballroom. One table and
two chairs are provided for each student organization that registers. This year, we had 30 student
organizations register and participate.

Comments:
I think these fairs are great, however, I do think they need to be marketed/advertised
better. Also I think it needs to be held in a more accessible, more widely seen space. We
have been a part of a few of these and we saw the least amount of foot traffic and
students at this one in comparison to other fairs in the past. Most students didn't know it
was even going on and some didn't know where it was. But as a word of encouragement,
we love these fairs and they are a great way to be seen by students, especially freshman,
and get students plugged in.
The location was inconvenient for those setting up as it was laid out in long rows in
narrow space, making it difficult to get in and out. It was also in one of the least traveled
spaces on campus, making it unhelpful for attracting individuals that didn't make a
special effort to seek it out.
I think that it could have been in a better space it wasn’t very approachable

accurate and appropriate information, all registered student organizations will become better

will only enhance student life at Murray State University.
During the 2018 – 2019 academic year, all registered student organizations were asked to attend
an orientation training program that provided updated an accurate information on office policies
& procedures, upcoming events and deadlines, and the introduction of new resources available to
organizations.
