MISSIONS SPOTLIGHT Every week, we highlight one of our supported missionaries or missions organizations

so you can know who we support and how you can pray for them.

TOM & MADDY HARDEMAN ONE CHALLENGE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES

Tom is the son of missionaries Tine and Jan Hardeman. He serves as Head of School for

Faith Academy; a school for the children of missionaries started in 1957 and located

just outside of Manila. Maddy teaches Advanced Placement Biology as well as serv-

ing as the Vice Principal for the High School. This is their 15th year at Faith Academy.

It’s been quite the year! Last Thanksgiving their boys' and girls' basketball teams were

issued a special invite to the 50th anniversary tournament in Hong Kong. Then protests

broke out in Hong Kong and the tournament was relocated to Taiwan. Praise! Stu-

dents weren’t there during the riots! Next, the Taal volcano erupted on January 12th.

The middle school was due to visit the volcano and camp overnight during the an-

nual Outdoor Education (OE) week. Praise! They are thankful their students were not

there when the volcano erupted. They were able to do a modified OE at a Christian

camp. Finally, the Coronavirus hit and impacted the scheduled end-of-season bas-

ketball tournaments. Faith hosted the entire tournament, due co-host Korea’s cancel-

lation. Praise! The tournaments were successful - both boys and girls with four teams.
