1 In The Heights MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Greetings! Welcome to The Milwaukee Theatre, and to In The Heights, the closing presentation in our 2011-12 season of great Broadway shows. In The Heights, which won the 2008 Tony® Award “Best Musical,” is a heartwarming tale of family, community, chasing dreams and finding one’s true self. The show is set in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood, but it could be any city, including Milwaukee, where the sense of a self-contained “urban village” within the city rings true in one neighborhood after another. In The Heights also won Tony® Awards for its music, lyrics and choreography; dance fans – including followers of the many dance competitions on TV – will be especially impressed. It is a terrific show all around, and I am confident you will enjoy it! I would like to tell you now about our upcoming 2012-13 season, but at this time we are reviewing our overall season strategy, at the same time that negotiations are underway for some shows we do hope to bring to the Milwaukee Theatre. I can tell you that our prospects include some very special presentations we can hardly wait to unveil! For now, however, I have to exercise patience, and at the same time, ask for a bit of yours. Of course we will certainly want to reward loyal patrons with advance notices, “presale” opportunities, early-bird specials and other exclusive offers, so be sure to “Sign up for event updates” at www.milwauketheatre.org, or continue taking advantage of the emails you already get from us. In the shorter term, we do have many exciting upcoming events, starting with roller derby action next door in the U.S. Cellular Arena, at the Brewcity Bruisers 2012 Championship Bout, this weekend on Saturday, May 5, and the 2012 Midwest Brewhaha Regional Tournament, June 2-3. The Arena will then host old-school hip-hop pioneers New Edition the following weekend, on June 8. At the same time, the Frontier Airlines Center again welcomes the annual Bead & Button Show, June 3-10. It is the largest bead and jewelry event of its kind in the world, drawing thousands of enthusiasts and suppliers from every corner of the globe. The next weekend, June 15-17, the Frontier Airlines Center will be packed with family fun as Lego® Kids Fest comes to Milwaukee for the first time ever. Finally, we are privileged to host, for the fourth time, Barry Manilow, one of the greatest musical legends of our era, in the Milwaukee Theatre on August 4. More information about all of these events can be found at www.wcd.org. Thank you for joining us for this show! We hope you will have a wonderful experience, and invite you to tell your family and friends about our shows and the Milwaukee Theatre; we hope you will return for many more events in the future! MESSAGE FROM THE PRES IDENT

Greetings!

The show is set in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood, but it could be any city, including Milwaukee, where the sense of a self-contained “urban

village” within the city rings true in one neighborhood after another.
