Two Invitations to Children and Young People

w-Eb uses media in different forms to offer people the opportunity to get their voices to be heard!

Our First Invitation:

As part of our commitment to the involving children and young people in the development of our activities we would like to invite you to contribute to the development of our website.

We would really appreciate contributions including:

•• Writing copy for the website which will make it more interesting for children and young people• Letting us know what social concerns you have, and what you think could be done about them• Telling us about good practice in services you have been involved in.

To become involved please email us on: [email protected]

w-Eb, (in partnership with the University of Northampton) is collaborating with Maplefields School to deliver a media cur-riculum, based in the school’s new, purpose-built media suite.

It is being delivered as a practical and creative part of the school’s curriculum and fits alongside the teaching of func-tional skills, building confidence, communication and social skills.

Young people are at the centre of the development and production of various contemporary media products, focussing on wellbeing and resilience.

Conveying the young person’s perspective across all products provides a unique, different and compelling narrative.

Young people are being encouraged to learn from each other as they develop competencies in the production of media projects and their awareness of how to manage their wellbeing and increase their resilience.Potential activities/media products include:

• Producing a school magazine and regular news sheet

• Production of music and creative arts videos

• Development of ‘mind journey’ images or films which explore young people’s experiences

• Development of social media products to promote wellbeing and resilience.
