User Interface (UI) & Functional Guidelines

While designing the mobile app, please follow these guidelines to give all the ISB’s mobile apps a consistent look and feel and user experience:

1. Always use ISB’s brand colour in the mobile app. Here is the ISB’s brand colour palette for reference.

2. ISB logo should always be present in the top 8 to 10% area of the application screen. The alignment could be left, right or center.

3. The size of ISB logo should be at least 80X30 pixels. Please refer this link for details about the dos and don’ts of using ISB logo.

4. The size of the menu icon should be maximum 30 – 35% of the size of ISB logo.

5. Navigating between application elements should be easy and intuitive. The application UI should be consistent and understandable throughout e.g. action sequences, layouts, icons and sounds should be clear.

6. The application should support both landscape and orientation if possible.

7. The application should depict essentially the same features and actions in both orientations, and preserve functional uniformity. Minor changes in content or views, or UI changes to provide greater functionality in a landscape widescreen tablet display, are acceptable.

8. The application must handle rapid transitions between display orientations without rendering problems.

9. The application should display graphics, text and other UI elements without noticeable distortion, blurring or pixilation. There should be sufficient spacing between texts and surrounding elements.

10. Any error messages in the application should be clearly understandable. Error messages should clearly explain to a user the nature of the problem, and indicate what action needs to be taken.
