*Number portability enables a subscriberto switch between services, locations, oroperators while retaining the originalmobile number, without compromising on

quality, reliability, services andoperational convenience.

*A subscriber can choose to keep hisnumber functional even if he switches

services of a Mobile Service Provider*Thus his/her old number would still be

functional on the new network

*Two central clearing houses for MNP databasecovering North-West zone (Syniverse) andSouth-East zone (Telecordia)*These CCH will download the MNP database inoperators NPDB on daily basis

*MNP will be restricted only for intra circleoperators*MNP will be allowed between CDMA and GSMoperators

*ACQ (All Call Query) direct routing method toimplement MNP

Mobile Numbers belonging toUNINOR. These numbers will be defined in the NPDB

with HLR (PC & SSN) information. Will be defined in theRange DN Table of the NPDB.

*Ported In Number Number ported into UNINOR fromanother network. These numbers will be defined in theNPDB with HLR (PC & SSN) information. Will be definedin the Single DN Table of the NPDB.

*Ported Out Number Number Ported out to anothernetwork from UNINOR. These numbers will be definedin the NPDB with RN information. Will be defined in

the Single DN Table of the NPDB.

Whenever the callis originated, theOriginating n/w willquery its NPDB

NPDB will

acknowledge thequery by adding aprefix (LRN) to theB MSISDN if the BMSISDN is portedout.

Based on the prefix(LRN) theOriginating n/w willroute the call to therecipient n/w

without involvingthe Donor network.
