Write down your personal reflections and connection to positive epidemics in your Writer’s Notebook.

Draw a T-chart in your Writer’s Notebook and pick two people to analyze/compare/connect.

Suzuki, Lone Nut, the person you said had a huge impact

Choose 1 role sheet to try (they are located in the middle of your table)

After reading the article, complete the role sheet

Move to a table with people who completed the same role sheet that you did.

Discuss the process. Do you like this role? If not, you should be thinking about which one you would like to do instead.

You will be choosing your lit circle groups and role. No roles may be duplicated within each team.

Pick up a blank copy of the role sheet you need for the first lit circle discussion.

Wednesday 8/31/16

Pre-AP

Read “The Young Can’t Wait” article independently

and then annotate a portion of the article (# the

paragraphs – 8 total):

Seat 2: 3-4 Seat 4: 7-8

Practice evidence-based questions with your

shoulder partner

In your Writer’s Notebook, number 1-6, A &B for each

question

Wednesday 8/31/16 ELA

Overview of evidence-based questions:

Part A

Part B (the evidence for the answer to Part A)

Helpful hints:

The answer for Part A must be something you can

provide evidence for from Part B. Therefore, it

may help to work backwards (like checking your

work for a math problem).

Always choose the “best” answer! (more than

one may seem correct)

For the first 4 questions, you may work with your

partner. Then, you’ll independently answer the last

2.

Read the questions (parts A and B before you

choose)

Review answers:

1. Part A. C

2. Part B. A D

3. Part A. C

4. Part B. B H

5. Part A. B

6. Part B. CE

How successful were you and your partner?
