Tuesday Oct 23rd - "Problems and Puzzles" - Sample Day - Come try it out and see if you might be interested in signing
up next semester! The Dual Credit course - "Problems and Puzzles" is a liberal education course that works on students
problem solving skills. These skills will help the student in not only their academic stream but is useful in everyday life! In the
class, there will be a mixture of lecture and hands on examples and puzzles to work through, as well as each student will
complete a learning portfolio, weekly assignments and complete a research paper. This is great prep for ANY post
secondary program in ANY major!! Note: This course will be taught by Dr. Shelly Wismath (University of Lethbridge) and
teacher liaison Janay Walstra.
If you play hockey/ringette (all levels) please see Bruce in the Phys Ed department this week.
Model UN - Any students interested in attending a Model UN competition at the end of February please see Stef before
Wednesday for country preferences. There will also be a short meeting on Thursday at Flex 1 in 206 for all Model UN
students, to discuss country assignments and topics for a mini simulation we will be running Saturday, December 1st
Interested in Joining a Bible Study? It’s a small group meeting every Monday Flex 1 in Room 218

Halloween Howl - this is a Guitar, Rock and Pop and Concert band concert that will be hosted in the Media Center on
October 29th and 30th @ 7pm. Tickets are $5 at the door and Chinook High School students can get in for free if they
show their ID.

deadline for completed and paid
applications is Thursday, November 1st.
Exam registration and payment must be
made online at the Alberta Education
website through your myPass account. If
you do not apply for an exam, there will
not be an exam for you! If you are
currently enrolled in a diploma course for
the first time at CHS we have already
made arrangements for your exams.
