Ways to think about monetization…
Active vs. Passive monetizingFeeding the monetization monster:
Pushing traffic to your site, usually at a cost, so it can be monetized, versus Pulling traffic (due to value of your content, branding, community, etc.).
Actively having to set up for monetization (filling orders, managing content), versus more Passively having others monetize for you (context-sensitive ads, affiliate sales)
