WHIPPLE CITY FESTIVAL- Come join us in Greenwich June 14 and 15 for the Whipple CityFestival. This year, the Whipple City Festival will feature living history demonstrations in Dorr Park.On Saturday June 15th there will be three regiments reenacting three different periods in history. The

nd Continental Artillery Regiment is a group of re-enactors from the Revolutionary War. A Cannonwill be on display as well as firearms from that period. Musket firings will take place at different times

uring the day and several campsites will be set for display with re-enactors in period dress. The25th NY Regiment Association will be representing the Civil War period. This living history groupepresents a typical military campsite of 1861 and is chartered with the NYS Education Department.

Tents and campsites will be set up. This group will have musket firings during the festival and woodenmuskets will be available for children to help the re-enactors do musket drills. The 99th InfantryDivision will be representing World War II. A field table, 4-5 pup tents, an ammo box as well as WWIIweapons will be on display. Also in Dorr Park will be The Greenwich Town Historian and the Willa rdMountain DAR and Northstar organization with information booths and items for sale. Churches: We are looking for individuals who have an interestin the importance of churches in the development of a community. BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS AND ARTISANS OFTHE TOWNS OF STONY CREEK, WARRENSBURG AND

THURMAN, in an effort to feature the three towns’ offerings as

a combined attraction, and to draw attention to the potential of 

the train as a way of travel out of area and a new market for those

conducting business or hosting events here. This first event, June

15, beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 1:30 p.m., has been

dubbed the “Showcase Preview Day”, as 20 of the approximately

40 exhibitors registered for the second event will provide whatorganizers term an “enticing Showcase sample” to entertain visitors

and lure them back on July 27. On Saturday, both travelers and

local folks are invited to stop in at Thurman Station to enjoy The

String Dusters, with Bill Healy, Bert Wilson, Corey Hough and

Nick Barr, playing American acoustic mus ic that blends country,

bluegrass, and folk styles. Tent-covered exhibitors will offer talks,

demonstrations, free samples, activities for adults and children,

and information about organizations and events in the three –

town area. There will be tickets for a timber frame garden shed

drawing, train whistles, face painting, a six- foot interactive river

model, history displays, intricate scale and half-scale rustic

furniture, original paintings of natural scenery, locally produced

cheeses and maple products, signed books, dowsing lessons,

educational owl talks, wooden home accessories, tales of the old

river drives and spinners turning fibers into yarn. The station

event welcomes visitors on their way to Thurman Old Home

Days at Veterans’ Memorial Field, where more music and activities

begin in early afternoon and climax with a fireworks display afterthe evening concert.The June exhibitors include Warren County

Historical Society, Graveled Surfaces Restoration, Martin’s

Lumber, Adirondack Rustic Miniatures, Hidden Hollow Maple

Farm, Adirondack Gold Maple Farm, Adirondack Spectral

Investigations, Warren County Soil and Water Conservation

District, John Thurman Historical Society, Wolf Pond Stables,

Moon Shadow Lodge, Adirondack Attitudes, Parasearch, Inc.,

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATER: The Poestenkill Christian Church will

ost a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater on Saturday, June 22. “Murder in Poestenkill”

written by Ron LeVan and Kathryn Capalbo will be performed by the Highlight Acting

Troupe. Come and help solve the mystery of who murdered Horace Serley, the bank 

resident. Was it his wife, his son, a long time friend or a bank employee? You can ask 

questions of the suspects and help the detectives discover who the murderer is. The din-

er will be an Italian Buffet and the cost is $15 for the dinner and show. Dinner will be
